Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.12m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 1,958 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2005 with the keel laid under the project name 'Nemo'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Originally styled by Espen Øino and comprehensively refined during her recent refit by Kristian Pascoli, Starfire’s exterior retains classic Lürssen proportions while introducing a sharper, more contemporary profile. The white hull is now offset by black detailing across window bands, mast elements, and transition zones, visually reducing mass and tightening the yacht’s horizontal lines.
Construction remains true to her Northern European pedigree, with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure providing long-term strength and stability. Teak decks run throughout, maintaining a traditional, durable finish across all exterior levels.
A major structural change came with the extension of the aft swim platform by 2.75m (9ft). This full-beam addition increases waterline length and improves both access to the sea and tender handling. The platform now functions as a true sea-level terrace, supporting boarding, watersports operations, and waterside lounging and dining. A dedicated storage and handling solution was also developed for the Hudson tender.
Outdoor guest areas are arranged across multiple decks. The main deck aft supports relaxed dining close to the water, while the upper deck offers an informal lounge and secondary dining space. On the pool deck, a 5m x 3m counter-flow pool serves as a lap pool or spa-style plunge, depending on configuration.
The sundeck now incorporates a glass-enclosed wellness space, surrounded by open lounging areas and a forward-facing observation lounge. Elsewhere, retractable awnings and cabanas provide flexible shade, while features such as an outdoor cinema and a regulation-height basketball hoop reinforce the yacht’s emphasis on active, outdoor living. An emergency landing pad remains in place for helicopter operations.
Interior Design
Starfire’s interior refit was led by Patrick Knowles Designs and conceived as a refinement rather than a reset. The approach focused on increasing light, flow, and comfort while preserving the yacht’s original architectural framework. Much of the original high-quality joinery remains intact, including extensive timber panelling, curved cabinetry, parquet flooring, and select marble surfaces.
Interior spaces were opened visually by removing non-structural columns where possible and extending glazing to floor-to-ceiling height in key areas. Window treatments were reduced or removed entirely, allowing natural light to play a much greater role throughout the yacht. A full lighting and electrical overhaul introduced warmer, more flexible LED systems, improving both ambience and efficiency.
The main deck saloon now reads as a single, flowing space, with seating zones arranged to support both conversation and relaxation. Dining areas sit aft, offering a choice of formal or informal settings without disrupting circulation. On the upper deck, an English-style pub forms a central social hub, paired with a dedicated cinema and additional lounge areas.
Entertainment spaces are deliberately varied rather than concentrated, allowing guests to use the yacht in different ways at the same time. These include indoor and outdoor cinemas, casual lounges, and flexible multi-use rooms that can adapt to different guest groups.
Crew areas were also upgraded as part of the refit, with improvements to the galley, crew mess, laundry, and dedicated crew gym, supporting efficient service and long-term crew comfort.
Accommodation
Starfire accommodates up to 12 guests across seven suites, with additional flexibility for children or staff when required.
The full-beam owner’s suite occupies a prime position forward on the main deck. It includes his-and-hers bathrooms and dressing areas, generous storage, and a private forward-facing space that can be used for relaxation or light fitness. The suite retains its original proportions while benefiting from improved light and updated finishes.
Two VIP suites are located on the main deck, while the remaining guest accommodation is arranged on the lower deck. Each cabin is generously sized, with seating areas, desks, walk-in wardrobes, and large en-suite bathrooms. Select cabins incorporate additional berths to increase flexibility without compromising comfort.
Accessibility remains a key strength. A central lift links multiple decks, and step-free circulation is maintained through the principal guest areas. A wide stern passerelle supports straightforward boarding.
Starfire operates with a professional crew of 20.
