Shadow vessels, often known as shadow boats or support yachts, are auxiliary vessels that accompany luxury yachts during their voyages. The vessels are primarily intended to provide additional storage for water toys, tenders, helicopters, submarines, and other recreational equipment that may not fit, nor be aesthetically pleasing, on the main yacht. 

In the context of this award category, the judging panel will prioritize the utilitarian aspects of the vessel, focusing on storage layout, capacity, and innovative logistical considerations. Support vessels prioritize form and function over looks and luxury, and maintain a unique identity.
