Key Features
- Air-conditioned flybridge
- Twin CAT C32 engines
- Extended sportfishing cockpit
- Walk-around side decks
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.15m beam and a 1.65m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 79 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Aurora is a Cheoy Lee Bravo 84, an 84ft (25.6m) motor yacht built in 2012 with the model’s distinctive extended cockpit and practical long-range cruising layout. Her profile combines a sharp entry, sweeping bow flare, raised pilothouse and elongated flybridge overhang, while the aft cockpit gives her a more versatile stern arrangement than many motor yachts in this class.
The hull features a fine forward entry that broadens through the midships section, while the sweeping flare helps keep decks dry in rougher conditions. Large rectangular windows run along the main deck, visually stretching the profile and bringing significant natural light into the interior. Wide side decks, protected by high bulwarks and sturdy railings, allow safe movement around the yacht.
Aurora's most distinctive feature is her factory-built extended cockpit. This area gives the yacht a different character from many motor yachts in this size range, creating space for fishing, diving and watersports without compromising guest areas elsewhere. The cockpit includes an aquarium-style livewell, chilled storage, a preparation station and provision for a fighting chair, while a 1,200lb davit and dedicated mounting plates can accommodate additional toys such as a jet ski or scooter.
At the stern, a hydraulic TNT lift carries a 4.6m (15ft) ZAR tender powered by a 90hp outboard. When the tender is launched, the platform doubles as a private beach area and dive platform. The aft deck above offers another social zone, finished with teak decking, a compass rose teak table, built-in seating, a Corian-topped bar, refrigeration and an outdoor television. Above, the flybridge combines an enclosed air-conditioned helm with open-air entertaining spaces, including a bar, dining area, barbecue station and large sun lounge.
Interior Design
Aurora's interior prioritises practicality and long-range cruising comfort. The layout is arranged on a single level from the aft cockpit through the saloon and into the galley, which creates a strong sense of openness and simplifies movement throughout the main deck.
The saloon offers generous seating centred around a large television, while oversized windows bring natural light deep into the space. Forward, a handcrafted circular dining table creates a more intimate dining setting than the rectangular arrangements often found aboard yachts of this size. Opposite, a full-service bar includes dedicated refrigeration and concealed storage for glassware.
The galley occupies the forward section of the main deck and is equipped for extended cruising. Granite worktops, stainless steel appliances, a GE Monogram side-by-side refrigerator and six additional refrigerator and freezer drawers provide substantial cold storage capacity.
Accommodation
Aurora accommodates up to six guests across three en suite staterooms and carries up to two crew.
The guest accommodation is unusual for an 84-foot yacht because all three cabins feature walk-around beds rather than narrower twin arrangements. The owner's suite and guest stateroom amidships both benefit from full-beam layouts and king-sized beds, while the VIP cabin forward features a queen-sized berth.
Crew accommodation is located aft with separate access through the cockpit. The area includes sleeping quarters for two crew together with a lounge space equipped with a television, microwave and refrigeration.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32 ACERT) 1,600hp engines, motor yacht Aurora is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 20 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Aurora also features an inviting spread of sunpads.
