  • Open-plan main deck
  • Big beach club
  • 1,000nm maximum range

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.2m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 115 GT (Gross Tonnes).

She was completed at Sanlorenzo's La Spezia yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

The Sanlorenzo SX88 changed what owners expected from a yacht under 30m (98.4ft). Instead of choosing between a sporty flybridge yacht and an explorer, it borrowed the best bits of both. Carra I is a recent example of that thinking, combining the low profile and performance of a fast motor yacht with deck spaces that feel much closer to a small superyacht.

Officina Italiana Design kept the profile clean and low, with long dark glazing, a gently raked wheelhouse and uncluttered side decks that make the yacht look longer than her 26.7m (87.6ft) length. Nothing feels overdone. The emphasis is on clean lines, good proportions and getting as much usable space as possible without adding visual bulk.

The biggest difference comes at the stern. Rather than squeezing the tender beneath the cockpit, the SX88 opens the whole aft end into a beach club. Fold-down sections and the hydraulic swim platform create a large terrace at the water's edge, while the flybridge, cockpit and beach club naturally become one social area when the yacht is at anchor. It's one of the ideas that helped make the SX88 one of Sanlorenzo's most successful modern designs.

Interior Design

Natural light is at the heart of Carra I's interior. Floor-to-ceiling glazing surrounds the main saloon, while warm oak flooring, soft neutral furnishings and restrained detailing create a calm, residential feel instead of the high-gloss finish often found aboard production yachts.

The open-plan layout is equally important. A marble-topped galley sits forward on the main deck rather than behind closed doors, becoming part of the social space instead of being hidden from guests. This arrangement has become one of the SX range's defining characteristics, making the saloon feel more like a modern waterfront apartment than a traditional yacht interior.

Large sofas occupy the aft end of the saloon where they enjoy uninterrupted views through the full-height glazing, while carefully chosen marble surfaces and natural timber finishes add texture without making the space feel formal. The result is an interior designed as much for everyday family life as entertaining.

Accommodation

Carra I accommodates up to eight guests across four cabins, with a full-beam owner's suite, one VIP cabin and two twin guest cabins. The arrangement suits both private cruising and family use, giving children or additional guests flexible sleeping arrangements without compromising comfort.

The owner's suite continues the yacht's emphasis on light and space, using large hull windows, warm timber finishes and a simple material palette to create a bright, peaceful cabin. The guest accommodation follows the same design language, with mirrored detailing helping to reflect natural light throughout the lower deck, while marble bathrooms add a subtle sense of luxury without overwhelming the clean styling.

Accommodation for three crew allows the yacht to support longer cruises while maintaining discreet service.

Performance & Capabilities

Carra I is powered by three Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines producing 800hp each. Combined with Sanlorenzo's fast-displacement hull, the package delivers a useful blend of efficiency and performance, allowing comfortable cruising at 20 knots while reaching a top speed of 23 knots.

Unlike a traditional planing yacht, the fast-displacement hull remains efficient across a broader speed range, making the SX88 equally comfortable on longer passages or shorter coastal hops. A maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles at 10 knots gives owners the flexibility to cruise further between refuelling stops while retaining the responsiveness and easy handling that IPS propulsion is known for.
