Mitan is a 39.11m expedition yacht delivered by Turkish shipyard Numarine in 2025. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Can Yalman, while Umberto Tagliavini is responsible for her naval architecture.

Key Features

  • Explorer hull with 6,000nm range @ 8 knots
  • Full-beam master suite on main deck
  • Aft pool with glass transom
  • Full-beam hydraulic swim platform

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.04m beam and a 2.51m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the second yacht built on the 40MXP design. Launched in September 2025 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in October 2025.

Exterior Design

Mitan is a Numarine 40MXP with an overall length of 40m (131.2ft), and the design takes the 37XP platform in a new direction. The hull and profile keep the explorer look, with straight lines, dark glazing bands and a long, low stance, but the deck plan puts far more focus on open-air use.

The key change is aft. On Mitan, the main saloon doors sit further forward, so the aft main deck gains a much larger social zone. That space includes a dining area, a bar and lounge seating, with a glass-backed pool set right at the stern. The pool links directly to a full-beam hydraulic swim platform that spans the yacht’s full 8m (26.2ft) beam, so the aft end works as a true beach club with direct access to the water.

The upper deck follows the same brief. It has broad open deck space, clear walkways and loose furniture that can move around for different uses. The bridge deck overhang gives shade, so guests can use the deck through the day without losing the open feel. The foredeck adds another social area with seating and sunpads, which gives the yacht several outdoor zones in use at the same time.

The top deck on this yacht is set up as guest space, with a hardtop for shade, freestanding furniture, refrigeration, ice makers and a large grill. The owner chose not to fit a helm station on this deck, but Numarine offers that option on other builds.

Interior Design

Mitan has a fully bespoke interior and exterior colour scheme, set apart from the first 40MXP hull. As with other Numarine builds, the owner had wide scope to shape the layout and finish, and this yacht was configured for family use and regular entertaining.

The main saloon uses floor-to-ceiling windows, so natural light runs across the full length of the space. The layout puts a large lounge area beside a substantial dining table with seating for up to 14 guests. A built-in AV system sits within the saloon, and the aft doors slide open to connect the room to the deck outside.

Forward on the main deck, Mitan has a flexible area that can take several forms. On this yacht it works as a snug seating space with a day head nearby, but owners can use the same footprint for a gym, extra storage or an extension to the forward suite wardrobe. Numarine builds these boats to owner brief, so the arrangement changes from one hull to the next.

The galley sits lower down in the crew service area and is set up for high-volume use. It includes Miele appliances, double ovens, a hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, multiple refrigerators, an ice maker and a dumbwaiter that lifts food to the upper deck. A side deck crew door gives direct service access outside.

The bridge sits far forward on the upper deck and uses a sloped windscreen for clear sightlines. Garmin screens, MAN engine displays, CCTV and navigation systems sit across the console, with engine and thruster controls close to hand. A captain’s cabin sits beside the wheelhouse.

Accommodation

Mitan accommodates up to 12 guests in six staterooms, with a layout that can change to suit owner use.

On the main deck, the forward suite has the scale of an owner’s cabin. It has a large bed, extensive storage, under-bed stowage and a spacious ensuite. The cabin also has an emergency escape hatch. The surrounding area can be altered during build to add wardrobe volume if required.

On the lower deck, the aft section can be split into two cabins, but this yacht uses the space as one full-beam suite. The room has a large bed, a settee, a walk-in wardrobe, big hull windows and an ensuite with twin basins, toilet and shower. In this configuration, the yacht has three cabins that all feel owner-grade.

Further forward on the lower deck, Mitan has additional guest cabins with twin and double arrangements, all with ensuite bathrooms and rainfall showers. The yacht shown in the walkthrough uses one lower deck cabin as a utility and overflow crew space, with laundry equipment, extra storage and an optional single berth. On other builds, that room can return to guest use.

Crew accommodation is substantial for a yacht of this size. The lower deck crew area includes three crew cabins, all with ensuite facilities, plus a crew mess. The layout also allows a captain’s cabin near the bridge, which keeps command and service spaces close together.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (D2868 LE425) 800hp engines, motor yacht Mitan is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 51,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 8 knots.
