Ocean Emerald is a 41.3m motor yacht for sale delivered by Rodriquez Yachts in 2009. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Foster & Partners, while Rodriquez Yachts is responsible for her naval architecture.

Key Features

  • Party-ready upper saloon
  • Sundeck Jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads
  • Seamless indoor-outdoor decks
  • Striking sweeping superstructure design

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.28m beam and a 3.78m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 346 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Ocean Emerald immediately makes an impression with her striking grey hull and sweeping curved superstructure, shaped by Lord Norman Foster’s bold vision. Launched by Rodriquez Yachts in 2009 and revitalised by a 2019 refit, she cuts a distinctive figure wherever she cruises. The design sweeps elegantly from the sharply angled bow to the waterline at the stern, creating a dramatic stepped appearance that draws the eye from the aft view.

Built with an all-aluminium construction by Cantieri Navali Rodriquez on the island of Elba, Ocean Emerald measures 41.3m (135ft 6in) in length, with a beam of 8.4m (27ft 6in) and a draught of 2.3m (7ft 6in). Her exterior deck areas span an impressive 232m², roughly 30% more than typical yachts of her size.

The decks have been designed with leisure firmly in mind. The foredeck, traditionally a working space, has been finished in natural teak and transformed into another guest area. The sundeck features a fully adjustable bimini shading sun loungers, a massage zone, a central bar, and a Jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads. There is also an on-deck barbecue, extensive alfresco dining options, and ample shaded lounging spaces across her cascading decks.

Ocean Emerald’s tenders and water toys are stored out of sight on the lower deck, preserving the yacht’s uninterrupted exterior lines. Liferafts and navigation lights are similarly hidden, with communication domes integrated neatly into a special arch. Wide, teak-clad staircases link the decks, enhancing the feeling of space and flow between levels.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, Ocean Emerald fills every saloon with dazzling natural light.

Interior Design

Inside, Ocean Emerald feels bright, open, and contemporary, with design choices that create the sense of being aboard a much larger yacht. Foster + Partners shaped an expansive 260m² of internal guest and crew space, maximising every available area.

Natural light pours in through the vast floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating interiors finished in pale woods, white high-gloss surfaces, and soft, light-toned furnishings. Italian-made loose furniture from Cassina - sofas, footstools, and armchairs - enhances comfort without disturbing the clean aesthetic. Notably, the main saloon is free of fitted cupboards or storage units, keeping the space visually uncluttered.

Natural teak decking flows seamlessly from the aft deck into the saloon, visually linking the exterior with the interior. An ebony-coloured dining table seats ten guests comfortably and sits near the yacht’s striking spiral staircase. This central staircase channels light between decks, adding to the yacht’s spacious feeling.

Lighting plays a major part in setting the atmosphere. Discreet geometric patterns hidden in the ceiling panels reveal a dramatic chandelier effect at night when switched on, thanks to computer-controlled mood settings.

A second saloon on the bridge deck acts as an informal lounge and entertainment space. After sunset drinks, it easily transforms into a lively party venue with a dynamic lighting system.

The galley, located on the main deck and supplied by Italian kitchen specialists Schiffini, is designed for efficient service both indoors and outdoors. Operations are supported by shore-based logistics for provisioning and maintenance, which suits Ocean Emerald’s focus on popular charter regions such as the Mediterranean.

The bridge itself features semi-circular guest seating, providing an excellent vantage point to watch port arrivals, while the compact captain’s cabin lies directly aft of the helm.

Accommodation

Ocean Emerald welcomes up to 12 guests across five staterooms, with a flexible and cleverly thought-out layout. The full-beam master suite, located on the main deck, enjoys private balconies on each side - rare on a yacht of this size. Decorated with light wood-effect ceilings, marble veneer, and faux leather detailing, the suite presents a modern, soothing atmosphere where even switches and fittings follow a symmetrical, minimalist aesthetic.

On the lower deck, four guest suites provide versatile accommodation. Two of the double cabins can be converted into a second full-beam master suite with his and her bathrooms, offering superb flexibility for families or groups chartering together.

Guest cabins mirror the yacht’s overall style, using pale colours, light materials, and simple, elegant detailing to maintain the yacht’s open and contemporary atmosphere.

The professional crew accommodation supports seven crew members. Facilities include three cabins for five crew aft and a captain’s cabin for two located behind the bridge.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,400hp engines, motor yacht Ocean Emerald is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots. With her 26,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,400 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Ocean Emerald’s bridge deck transforms into the ultimate party zone when the sun goes down.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Ocean Emerald also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
