Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 9.14m beam and a 2.13m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 492 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Star Diamond's profile is defined by a long, low superstructure set over a fuller hull form, with a raked bow and a clean, continuous sheer line running aft.
The bow carries a sharp entry with a slightly raised foredeck, while the superstructure steps back in clear tiers, creating usable deck space across each level. Window placement follows a practical rhythm, with rectangular glazing grouped along the main and upper decks, while small circular portholes run along the lower hull.
The main deck aft is fully sheltered and arranged as a social space with lounge seating and dining, while the bridge deck above extends this with a large covered aft deck used for alfresco dining. This level sits higher than typical main deck saloons, so it benefits from wider views and separation from lower deck activity.
The sun deck is arranged around a central leisure zone, with a raised Jacuzzi set within a sunpad arrangement, and surrounding loose furniture that can be repositioned. A bar and grill sit under an awning structure, while additional seating areas are built into the bulwarks, following the curvature of the deck.
At the stern, a hydraulic transom door opens to form a working beach and watersports platform, connecting directly to a large lazarette. This space is fitted as a staging area for diving and water activities, with storage for equipment, a shower, refrigeration and work surfaces.
Interior Design
The interior was developed by Mario Buatta, using a residential approach rather than a minimal yacht scheme, so the spaces rely on pattern, colour and furniture layering rather than built-in forms.
Across the main areas, pale tones dominate, with yellows, florals and patterned fabrics used alongside wood finishes such as bubinga and kewazinga. Upholstery is varied, with sofas and armchairs arranged in groups rather than fixed layouts, and decorative detailing runs through wall finishes, cabinetry and ceilings.
The main living space is positioned on the bridge deck rather than the main deck, which shifts the primary social area higher in the yacht and separates it from guest cabins and service zones. This saloon connects directly to the aft bridge deck dining area, forming a single indoor-outdoor living space.
Forward on this level, the wheelhouse is fitted with full navigation equipment and includes a guest observation area, while adjacent spaces include a captain’s cabin, office and radio room.
A central spiral staircase runs through the yacht, finished in wood with detailed joinery, and connects all decks, while a second crew staircase links service areas from the lower deck up to the bridge.
On the main deck, the layout includes a garden-style lounge space aft, followed by a formal dining room with curved walls and hand-painted mural panels. The galley sits adjacent, supported by a pantry and service areas arranged for direct access without crossing guest routes.
Accommodation
Star Diamond accommodates up to 10 guests across 5 cabins, with additional flexibility built into the layout.
The full-beam master suite is positioned forward on the main deck and includes a private study, bedroom and large en suite bathroom. The layout separates sleeping, working and dressing areas, while maintaining direct access from the central foyer.
Guest accommodation sits on the lower deck and includes a mix of cabin types:
- A VIP suite with queen bed and adjacent lounge space
- Additional double cabins
- Twin cabins with en suite bathrooms
One suite can be divided into two separate cabins using a soundproof partition, allowing the layout to adapt between larger groups or family use.
Crew accommodation is arranged separately with direct access to the galley and service routes, supporting discreet operation across all guest areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512 DITA) 1,650hp engines running at 1600rpm, motor yacht Star Diamond is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 47,763 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,600 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
