Watch the 36m Van der Valk Superyacht Jangada Launch for Repeat Owner

Van der Valk Shipyard has launched the 36-meter motor yacht Jangada, marking the latest step in a long-running collaboration between the Dutch yard and a returning owner.

Designers Nick Top and Guido de Groot developed the exterior and interior of the yacht, working alongside Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design on the naval architecture.

Updated Profile for a Returning Owner

This third yacht in the series follows earlier builds in 2015 and 2019, the latter of which earned a World Superyacht Award nomination in 2020. Sea trials are set to begin shortly, with delivery scheduled for 2026. The owner requested an additional deck compared to previous yachts bearing the same name, prompting a reworked raised pilothouse profile and sculpted lines that accommodate the increased volume without disturbing the vessel's proportions.

Family use remained central to the brief, along with changes to the owner’s home berth in the Bay of St Tropez. The yard introduced higher noise and vibration attenuation as part of a wider set of engineering upgrades, prompting the selection of a steel hull, aluminum superstructure, and extensive insulation throughout.

A Family-Focused Interior Plan

Inside the motor yacht, whitewashed wood and clean detailing create a calm atmosphere. The layout follows a family-first logic, beginning with a full-beam master suite located forward on the main deck. Lower deck cabins have been tailored for the owner’s children and grandchildren, each arranged to suit extended stays.

Volume plays a major role throughout the yacht’s living spaces. The main saloon carries 2.6 meter ceiling heights and large glass surfaces that bring in daylight and long views. A dedicated gym offers an alternative space for fitness on board, while the wheelhouse lounge has been set up for quiet time at anchor. Dashboard screens retract into the console to keep the space uncluttered when not underway.

Across five cabins, Jangada sleeps up to ten guests. The main deck holds the owner’s suite, while the lower deck includes two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Each cabin has been customized for the family and planned with long cruising periods in mind.

Deck Layout with Signature Details

A 4.5 meter jet-stream pool sits on the flybridge deck. With a depth of 1.5 meters and a 7,200 liter capacity, the pool required a warm-water tank positioned below the tender garage and careful attention to structure and stability. The pool joins wide open deck areas that support family cruising and relaxed time in port.

Crew and guest routes have been separated to maintain privacy throughout the yacht. Extensive sound dampening has been integrated into bulkheads, decks, and service spaces to meet the owner’s request for higher acoustic comfort.

Power comes from twin MAN D2862 426 diesel engines producing 900 hp each. The yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 14.15 knots and cruise at 13 knots. Twin screw propellers handle propulsion, supported by a displacement hull intended for quiet operation and consistent long-range performance.

2019 Jangada Sister Yacht on the Market

Alongside the new build, the owner’s previous 32-meter Jangada is on the market. Delivered in 2019, the superyacht for sale is notable for its raised pilothouse layout with a private dining area, a bright interior with underfloor heating, and a generous sundeck fitted with a retractable awning.

Her aluminium hull, developed with Van Oossanen, features a bulbous bow and Hull Vane foil for added efficiency, while a roomy lazarette offers storage for two jetskis. Powered by twin MTUs for a 24 knot top speed, she presents a fast, family-friendly option with proven cruising range.

The 32m Jangada yacht is on the market with Y.CO and is currently asking €7,500,000.
