Delivered in 2018, Nicostasia is a 26m motor yacht for sale built by Dutch shipyard Van der Valk. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Guido de Groot Design, while Ginton Naval Architects is responsible for her naval architecture.

Key Features

  • Full-beam owner’s suite amidships
  • Family cabin with built-in bunks
  • Floating steel staircase between decks
  • Open-plan galley and saloon

Design & Construction

Designed around a planing aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 6.25m beam and a 1.8m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 150 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in June 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2018.

Exterior Design

Nicostasia is a 26-meter (85.3-foot) motor yacht built by Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands, and the fourth unit in the yard’s Raised Pilothouse series. She presents a striking profile with a sleek grey metallic hull and white superstructure, offset by blackout detailing and refined striping.

One of the most distinctive features on board is the flybridge, which includes an outdoor helm station, a wet bar complete with fridge, wine cabinet, and ice maker to port, and a generous U-shaped dining lounge to starboard. This space also houses storage for a 4.45-meter tender and a waverunner, neatly integrated without compromising the open feel of the deck.

Floating stainless steel stairs link the main deck to the elevated pilothouse in a split-level layout. This architectural detail is eye-catching and it allows light to filter through the treads, enhancing the natural brightness of the interiors below and easing the transition between decks.

The main deck forward offers a broad open space, and the raised pilothouse itself delivers both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits - not least the improved headroom and internal volume that this structure enables.

The raised pilothouse on Nicostasia transforms interior volume and light.

Interior Design

The saloon and galley are integrated into a single open-plan space - a bold layout decision that’s rarely seen on yachts in this size range. The result is a shared area that’s full of life and light, perfectly suited for social cooking and casual conversation.

The galley sits beneath the wheelhouse and benefits from exceptional ceiling height. Light pours in from the windows above, helped along by the raised nature of the helm and the floating staircase structure. Even the extractor hood has been cleverly designed - doubling as a lighting fixture positioned directly beneath the access to the flybridge.

Throughout the interior, whitewashed oak sets a bright and relaxed tone, chosen by the owners for its elegant but unfussy appearance. The overall palette is light and airy, softened by cheerful accents that make the space feel welcoming and personal. Guido de Groot’s design strikes a balance between minimalism and practicality, making it clear that Nicostasia was conceived for everyday enjoyment.

Accommodation

Below deck, Nicostasia accommodates eight guests in four ensuite cabins, arranged to suit the needs of a close-knit family. The full-beam owner’s suite spans the yacht’s 6.25-meter (20.5-foot) beam and includes a large private bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe.

Forward is a VIP cabin, while two additional guest cabins sit to port and starboard. One of these features bunk beds designed specifically for the children, while the other is arranged with a double bed and a desk. All cabins follow the same refined design language as the main living areas, with whitewashed oak and personal décor choices tailored to individual family members.

Crew accommodation for three is separate, located aft and discreetly positioned for efficiency and privacy. The Raised Pilothouse layout allows for flexibility, but on Nicostasia, the crew spaces are kept off the main deck, prioritising guest areas while ensuring smooth operation.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (10V 2000 M93) 1,502hp engines, motor yacht Nicostasia is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.

The heart of Nicostasia is her open-plan galley, designed for conversation as much as cooking.
