Managed by Marine Group Yachting International in partnership with Tersan Shipyard, the project carries an estimated budget of €2.5 million and is expected to conclude with a relaunch in early July 2026.
The works are being carried out at the Alfa Yacht Refit & Build Center, where teams began the program on 18 February. Early activity has focused on sandblasting the hull as the first stage of a broader technical overhaul.
Major Structural and Engineering Works Begin
The refit program centers on major engineering and structural work aimed at restoring and upgrading the yacht’s core systems. One of the most significant elements involves a full reconstruction of the underwater hull.
Alongside the structural works, the yacht’s main engines and generators will undergo comprehensive servicing as part of the refit program.
The project also includes a broad upgrade of onboard technology. Electronic systems and operational equipment across the vessel are scheduled for replacement or modernization as part of the refit program.
Interior Spaces Set for Modern Transformation
Beyond mechanical upgrades, the project will also transform the motor yacht’s living spaces. Zanzoun will receive a complete interior redesign intended to introduce a more contemporary aesthetic.
The refit team is carrying out a wide scope of work across both the interior and exterior areas of the yacht. According to Marine Group Yachting International, the program involves more than 15 separate technical operations covering structural, engineering, and finishing elements.
Experienced Refit Team Managing the Work
Oversight of the refit has been entrusted to a multidisciplinary technical team made up of four engineers and more than thirty skilled specialists. The work is being coordinated under the leadership of Project Director and refit engineer Murat Yalçın.
The team is working in close cooperation with Tersan Shipyard, bringing together engineering expertise and shipyard infrastructure to carry out the project within the planned schedule.
Project Highlights Türkiye’s Growing Refit Capabilities
Marine Group Yachting International Chairman Şahan Demircan has also pointed to the broader ambitions linked to the project. The company is developing plans to establish a refit center in Türkiye that meets international superyacht standards.
According to the company, projects such as Zanzoun help demonstrate the growing capabilities of the country’s yacht maintenance and refit industry as Türkiye continues to strengthen its position in the global superyacht sector.
Future Project: Cantieri di Pisa’s CDP Custom 40
Beyond refit work on legacy yachts such as Zanzoun, Cantieri di Pisa is also progressing with new construction projects, including the 40m CDP Custom 40 currently scheduled for delivery in 2027. Built on a displacement steel hull with an aluminum and composite superstructure, the four-deck yacht is expected to measure just under 500GT, with a beam of 8.15m and a draft of 2m.
The design includes several features aimed at extended cruising and guest comfort. A beach club at water level, twin salons across two decks, and a private terrace attached to the owner’s suite form part of the main layout. A midships garage with a side-launch system will accommodate a tender up to 6.6m alongside water toys. Powered by twin MAN V12 engines producing 1,550hp each, the yacht is expected to reach 15 knots with a range of around 2,000 nautical miles.
