The Itama yacht has been launched at Ferretti Group’s Marina di Ravenna shipyard in Italy. Measuring 21 metres, the new Itama 70 features exterior design by Vallicelli Design and interiors by IdeaeItalia, pairing the brand’s classic open-yacht styling with updated social spaces, modern onboard technology and 40-knot performance.
A modern evolution of Itama’s open yacht heritage
The Itama 70 continues the brand’s longstanding design language centred around sleek proportions, low-profile styling and an uninterrupted connection to the sea. Vallicelli Design has retained signature elements closely associated with the Italian shipyard, including the expansive foredeck sunpad and elongated hull glazing that stretches along the yacht’s profile. The design aims to preserve the unmistakable Itama silhouette while introducing cleaner contemporary detailing and improved spatial flow throughout the yacht. Large sections of glazing reinforce visual connectivity with the water, while the open layout maintains the brand’s emphasis on freedom-oriented cruising.
A beach club layout designed around open-air social living
Outdoor living forms the core of the Itama 70 experience, with the aft deck arranged around flexible guest interaction and waterside relaxation. The movable beach area can launch and store a 3.25-metre tender, while the sunpad connects directly with the dining space through an integrated adjustable backrest that creates continuity between lounging and dining areas. A U-shaped seating arrangement surrounds a teak dining table opposite a wet bar that can transform into an additional chaise longue area using removable cushions. The entire aft social zone is protected by an electric bimini top with integrated lighting, supporting extended use throughout the day and evening. Forward movement around the motor yacht has also been streamlined through a central walkthrough integrated into the windscreen.
Contemporary lower deck spaces maximise onboard comfort
Below deck, the Itama 70 introduces a warmer and more contemporary interior atmosphere while maintaining a practical cruising layout. IdeaeItalia has developed a configuration that balances natural light, refined materials and functional liveability throughout the accommodation areas. The boat offers three en suite guest cabins, including a full-beam owner’s cabin positioned aft, alongside a lower deck dinette and a corner galley designed to encourage extended onboard stays. The helm station on the main deck is positioned to port and fitted with twin 16-inch chartplotter touch displays, combining simplified navigation management with modern onboard technology integration.
Twin MAN engines deliver 40-knot performance
The first Itama 70 is powered by twin 1,550hp MAN V12 engines, giving the yacht a reported top speed of 40 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. A Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser has also been installed to improve comfort both underway and at anchor, supporting the model’s focus on fast and comfortable cruising.
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the world’s largest yacht database, Itama continues to expand its range of high-performance open yachts. Alongside the new Itama 70, the builder also produces the Itama 62RS motor yacht, a GRP-built sportsboat capable of speeds up to 40 knots, and the Itama 54 motor yacht, a two-cabin performance cruiser designed for day boating and fast coastal cruising with a top speed of 37 knots.
