Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.38m beam and a 2.12m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 334 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2005. Launched in September 2007 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in December 2007.
Exterior Design
Casual Water is a Burger Boat Company motor yacht built in aluminium, with a length of 38.51m (126.4ft), a beam of 8.28m (27.2ft) and a draft of 1.98m (6.5ft). The profile is classically linear, with a long foredeck, a raised pilothouse and three clearly stepped decks, so the yacht has a formal, traditional look rather than a low-slung or aggressively modern one.
The bow is long and fine, with a clean sheerline and high bulwarks that run aft into wide side decks. The superstructure is arranged in simple horizontal layers, while the window pattern stays neat and upright, reinforcing the yacht’s more traditional character. The bridge deck aft is partly sheltered and set up for open-air dining, while the sun deck adds another full guest level with a bar, dining space, a forward spa pool and surrounding sunpads.
Aft, the bridge deck carries the tender and jet ski in open-air stowage, so the main guest decks stay clear. The stern is stepped down to a swim platform, with twin staircases leading to the water and a central lazarette access point built into the transom.
Interior Design
The interior was designed by the Burger Design Team and follows a formal, traditional style, with recessed panelling, fluted columns and extensive Makoré woodwork used throughout the main guest spaces. Cream, brown and rust tones soften the timber, while each guest cabin introduces its own lighter accent colour, so the yacht avoids looking too uniform from room to room.
The main deck saloon is split into lounge and dining areas, with the seating grouped around a coffee table and the formal dining table set aft, close to the pantry and galley for service. On the bridge deck, the skylounge introduces a second interior social area with sofas, a television and a dedicated bar, while the pilothouse includes a guest sofa behind the helm so it can function as an observation point during passages.
A notable detail on the lower deck is the sauna, lined in Californian sequoia wood and positioned between the guest cabins. Its one-way mirror wall keeps the room private while still avoiding a closed-in feel, and the staircase foyer outside also incorporates a wine cellar and television. Materials continue through the galley and pilothouse too, which keeps the yacht visually consistent rather than treating crew and operational areas as separate from the main design language.
Accommodation
Casual Water accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins, with crew accommodation for up to 8. The owner’s suite is positioned on the main deck and spans the full beam, giving it the best width in the guest layout as well as direct separation from the lower deck cabins. It includes a king-size bed, large wardrobe space and a split his-and-hers bathroom arrangement, with a separate shower in his area and a bath in hers.
The lower deck guest accommodation is arranged around the central stair lobby. Two aft guest cabins are fitted with queen-size beds, while two forward cabins use twin single beds. All four guest cabins have en suite bathrooms with separate shower rooms, along with wardrobes and wall-mounted televisions.
Crew accommodation is located forward on the lower deck, while the captain’s cabin sits on the bridge deck close to the pilothouse. That arrangement keeps the captain near the operational core of the yacht, while the rest of the crew remain close to the galley, service stair and working areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508B-DITA) 8-cylinder 1,300hp engines running at 1835rpm, motor yacht Casual Water is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 54,116 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,500 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
