Designed by Can Yalman with naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini, Mitan is the second unit of the Numarine 40MXP series. The model builds on the established by the Numarine 37XP, shifting focus toward extended onboard living and flexible family use.
Mitan was launched in October 2025 and later delivered to a South American owner, with the brief of the superyacht centered on long-range cruising and shared time at sea. Her name, drawn from Hindi and Nepali, refers to a chosen companion treated as family - a theme that runs through both her layout and design approach.
A Neutral Palette Built for Long-Term Use
The interior design leans on natural materials selected for durability as much as appearance. Wood, stone, and glass are used throughout the Numarine yacht, paired with a neutral palette of soft taupe, cream tones, and subtle olive accents. Grey-veined marble and textured finishes introduce depth without overpowering the space.
Interiors draw on natural stone, wood and glass against a neutral palette — materials chosen as much for endurance as for appearance. The result is a boat that looks the same after three weeks in the Med as it did on the morning of departure."

The result is a calm, consistent interior that holds up over extended use. Rather than relying on contrast or bold detailing, the design keeps visual noise low, which suits a yacht intended for long passages and sustained onboard living.
A Family-Focused Layout
The main saloon follows an effective and versatile arrangement, with lounge seating aft and a formal dining area forward. Large windows and full-height glazing bring in natural light, reinforcing a sense of openness that carries through the yacht.
Accommodation on board the explorer yacht is arranged for up to 12 guests across six staterooms, anchored by a full-beam master suite on the main deck. The remaining guest spaces include two adaptable cabins designed to shift function depending on the voyage - these can serve as additional guest rooms, a children’s suite, or a private office.
This level of flexibility speaks directly to the owner’s brief, where extended time onboard requires spaces that can adjust to changing needs rather than fixed layouts. Circulation between guest and crew areas is fully separated on board the motor yacht, maintaining privacy while ensuring service runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Three-Level Stern Living
One of the most distinctive aspects of Mitan is her aft deck arrangement. The stern is structured across three descending levels, creating a clear sequence from interior to water.
At the upper level, an alfresco dining area connects directly to the main saloon. Below, a lounge space centers around a bespoke pool with a glass transom, forming the social core of the yacht’s outdoor areas. At water level, a full-beam swim platform fitted with an Opacmare transformer provides direct access to the sea.
This vertical layout creates a continuous flow between spaces, reducing the separation between indoor and outdoor living. The distance from dining table to water is minimal, reinforcing the expedition yacht’s focus on active use rather than static lounging.
Elsewhere, the flybridge acts as the primary gathering space, open on three sides with wide sightlines and configured with seating, dining, and bar facilities. Forward, the foredeck provides a quieter alternative, balancing sunbathing and practical anchoring functions.
Range and Stability
Mitan’s technical platform supports extended cruising, with a reported range of 6,000 nautical miles at 8 knots. This places her firmly within transatlantic capability, whether for a direct crossing or a season spent moving between regions. Power comes from twin MAN 800hp engines as standard, with an optional upgrade to 900hp units. The displacement hull is designed for efficiency at lower speeds, aligning with the yacht’s long-range role.
The 40MXP platform is designed to carry a substantial inventory of tenders and water toys. Mitan can accommodate a 9.7m tender alongside a dinghy, two waverunners, two Seabobs, and two kayaks. A crane on the upper deck handles loads of up to three tonnes, while additional equipment is stored in dedicated stern lockers.
Growing Fleet Signals Strong Market Interest
Mitan is the second hull in the 40MXP series, following the delivery of the first unit, Miouch, in August 2025. To date, three hulls have been sold, with two delivered and a third scheduled for delivery later this year. A fourth unit is currently under construction.
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch, the world's largest and most accurate yacht database, the third Numarine 40MXP superyacht is on the market and is currently asking €18,500,000. She is due to be delivered in 2027.
Following her Palm Beach debut, Mitan is set to spend several months cruising south toward Mexico, stopping at multiple anchorages along the way. The itinerary reflects the original brief: a yacht designed not just to reach distant locations, but to spend time in them comfortably.
