Delivered in 1931, Argossy is a 71m classic yacht built by German shipyard Krupp Germaniawerft. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of LUCA DINI Design & Architecture, while Cox & Stevens is responsible for her naval architecture.
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and superstructure she features a 9.15m beam and a 3.14m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 630 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Argossy is a classic motor yacht from an earlier era of design, where long overhangs, narrow beams, and upright masts defined both style and seaworthiness. Her hull is long and slender, with a fine entry bow and a sweeping sheerline that runs the full length of the vessel. The superstructure sits low and central, crowned by a single funnel and framed by twin masts fore and aft, giving her the elegant symmetry of a traditional steam yacht.
The hull carries a clean white finish, broken only by a neat line of portholes and understated detailing along the sheer. The deck layout is open and spacious for the period, with raised deckhouses and an extended foredeck that hint at her ocean-going pedigree.
Accommodation
She is also capable of carrying up to 17 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAK (8MU 452 AK) 1,774hp engines, motor yacht Argossy is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 145,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,455 nautical miles.
