Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.15m beam and a 1.85m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 194 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2005. This was the fifteenth yacht built on the Tradition 100' design. Launched in May 2007 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2007.
Exterior Design
The yacht's exterior design is characterized by clean lines and a balanced structure that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The white superstructure coupled with the navy blue hull offers a traditional color palette that is time-honored in the yachting community.
On the aft deck, BW features a dedicated seating area, providing guests with a space to relax and enjoy the marine environment. The transom folds down to reveal a tender storage garage, which doubles as a beach club, enhancing the connection with the water and expanding the usable outdoor space.
Moving forward, BW's main salon is accessed via a coded power door for added privacy and security. The yacht's side decks lead to the bow, where additional sun pads offer a place to soak up the sun and take in the forward views.
The upper deck is a versatile space, well-equipped with a bar area and ample seating arrangements. This area can be partially enclosed, allowing for adaptation to varying weather conditions, and includes a dining space with an overhead hardtop for shade. The deck's layout is designed for both entertainment and relaxation, providing guests with a multitude of options for outdoor living.
Ascending further, BW features a multi-tiered deck that includes a sun deck with expansive sun pads and a view vantage point at the bow. The yacht's exterior spaces are intentionally designed to maximize guest enjoyment, providing a variety of settings for different occasions and preferences.
Interior Design
The main salon is a central gathering space, featuring a mix of soft furnishings and classic woodwork that brings warmth and texture to the area. A dedicated seating area allows for social interactions or relaxation, while the adjacent dining space provides an intimate setting for meals. The furniture is arranged to maximize space and facilitate ease of movement within the salon.
In the galley, the focus is on functionality for the culinary team. It is equipped with high-end appliances, including an induction cooktop and oven by Miele, an integrated dishwasher, and ample refrigeration. Despite its relatively compact size, the galley includes substantial storage and preparation areas, allowing the crew to prepare a variety of dishes. The use of stone counters and fine woodwork in the galley echoes the quality found throughout the yacht's interior.
Accommodation
Accommodation aboard BW is thoughtfully designed to host up to eight guests in comfort, with provisions for six crew members to ensure efficient operation and service. The yacht features four well-appointed cabins, each crafted to provide a private, restful environment for guests after a day at sea.
The owner's suite is a prominent feature, positioned on the main deck to afford panoramic views and an abundance of natural light. It includes a walk-in closet, ample storage, and a dedicated dressing table. The ensuite facilities are generous, featuring a double vanity, a separate rainfall shower, and a jetted soaking tub, underscoring the emphasis on comfort and privacy.
Below deck, the VIP cabin serves as an admirable alternative to the owner's suite, offering substantial accommodation with a spacious walk-in closet, a comfortable settee, and a large flat-screen TV. The ensuite bathroom includes a rainfall shower, maintaining the standard of luxury found throughout the vessel.
The two additional guest cabins are versatile, with the ability to be set up as twins or doubles according to guest requirements. Both cabins are equipped with ensuite bathrooms, including rainfall showers, and televisions, ensuring that all guests enjoy the same level of convenience and luxury.
The crew quarters include comfortable cabins and a crew mess, fitted with the necessary amenities to ensure the crew can rest and manage their duties effectively.
Performance & Capabilities
BW is powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C18) engines. Each 6-cylinder engine produces 1,000 horsepower at a running speed of 2300rpm, which propels the yacht to a commendable top speed of 15 knots. At a steady cruise of 12 knots, guests aboard BW can enjoy a smooth journey with the assurance of robust engine performance.
The yacht's fuel capacity is 22,500 liters, providing BW with a considerable range. When operated at a consistent speed of 10 knots, the vessel boasts a maximum range of 2,100 nautical miles, allowing for extensive voyages without the frequent need for refueling stops.
BW's onboard experience is further enhanced by the implementation of stabilizers. These are crucial for reducing the roll of the yacht, ensuring that comfort is maintained even when anchored in rougher waters.
The semi-displacement hull design of BW strikes a perfect balance between voluminous interior spaces and the ability to achieve higher speeds. This design choice reflects a thoughtful consideration of BW's overall performance capabilities, catering to both the need for speed and the desire for comfortable, expansive living areas.
Amenities
In addition, Artemis features a beach club where those on board can enjoy unwinding close to the water. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck.
