Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement composite hull and superstructure she features a 20' beam and a 5'11" draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 112 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Cipango is a 28m (92ft) Versilcraft Super Challenger built with the easy grace and proportion typical of early 1990s Italian design. Her composite hull and 6.1m (20ft) beam are drawn for stability and pace, giving her a balanced, confident profile underway. The crisp white topsides are accented by a dark hull band that runs the length of her windows, a subtle detail that elongates her lines and visually lowers the superstructure.
Exterior living spaces are practical and sociable. The aft deck offers shaded dining with direct access to the saloon, while the upper deck opens out into a generous flybridge for sunbathing and open-air entertaining. There is room to dine, lounge, or simply take in the view, supported by easy deck access and broad side walkways that wrap around the main deck.
Interior Design
Inside, Cipango carries the signature of designer Patrick Knowles, whose work combines classic yacht joinery with a relaxed residential feel. The main saloon is bright and expansive, framed by large side windows and finished in high-gloss wood with deep carpets underfoot. Vivid green velvet sofas and patterned chairs bring a lively contrast to the traditional cabinetry, while framed artwork and bold curtains add personality.
The space flows naturally from the lounge to the dining area, where a large table sits forward beneath soft lighting. The layout feels informal but carefully arranged, with plenty of seating and clear sightlines through the saloon. The galley, located forward, has been updated and refitted, equipped for full-service dining or casual meals with modern appliances neatly integrated into the woodwork.
Accommodation
Accommodation is arranged for eight guests in four cabins, each designed for privacy and quiet. The full-beam master suite lies amidships on the lower deck, providing generous space and natural balance. A forward VIP double cabin is accessed by its own staircase, while two guest cabins aft are reached via a separate stairwell. Each stateroom includes its own en suite bathroom, creating a sense of self-contained comfort for all aboard.
Crew quarters for four are forward in the bow and house four members across two cabins, maintaining efficient operation and service without interrupting guest areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Detroit Diesel (16V 92N) 2,900hp engines, motor yacht Cipango is capable of reaching a top speed of 28 knots, and comfortably cruises at 25 knots. With her 2,906 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 500 nautical miles at 23 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
