Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.46m beam and a 2.13m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 204 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in April 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2017.
Exterior Design
Sandalphon is a 31m (101.7ft) raised-pilothouse expedition yacht, designed for serious long-range cruising with the volume and deck space to match. Her matte grey hull from Boero Yacht Coatings contrasts with a crisp white superstructure, giving her a purposeful, trawler-inspired profile. The high, forward-placed pilothouse provides excellent visibility on passage, while the stepped decks aft create a natural separation between operational and guest spaces.
Three main exterior levels offer a mix of open and sheltered areas. The 50-square-metre sundeck crowns the yacht, shaded by a permanent bimini and fitted with a bar, sunpads, and generous lounge space for panoramic viewing. The upper deck aft serves as a quieter retreat, while the main deck aft is arranged for dining with a wide sofa and marble-topped table positioned close to the galley for smooth service.
Forward, the expansive foredeck typically carries two tenders – a 6m RIB and a smaller jet tender – and opens up for larger gatherings or relaxed lounging when cleared. Walkaround side decks link all key areas, supporting easy crew movement and guest circulation.
Interior Design
The interior of Sandalphon is clean, practical and built for comfort during extended cruising. The design uses light maple joinery paired with soft carpet underfoot and bright, striped Brazilian fabrics on the built-in saloon seating, giving a warm and welcoming feel without overcomplication.
The upper saloon is the main social hub inside, offering an open-plan space for relaxing or entertaining with wraparound views and direct access to the sundeck. The main saloon sits aft on the main deck and connects easily to the exterior dining area, while the galley is positioned for smooth service flow without dominating the guest areas.
Bathrooms feature contrasting marble finishes, and the overall design stays intentionally minimal, with clear surfaces and neutral tones suited to long-range travel. The helm station follows suit with a modern, ergonomic layout and clear visibility for extended passages.
Accommodation
Sandalphon offers accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 suites comprising an owners cabin, 1 double cabin and 2 twin cabins. The guest spaces reflect the yacht’s interior design language, using light maple finishes, practical built-in storage, and calm, neutral tones throughout.
The owner’s suite is arranged with privacy and comfort in mind, while the additional guest cabins provide versatile options for family or close companions. All cabins are carpeted and simply furnished, in keeping with the explorer character of the yacht.
Crew accommodation is arranged across two twin cabins with the addition of a captain’s cabin. The crew area also includes a dedicated laundry room, helping support the yacht’s ability to operate efficiently on long voyages. In total, Sandalphon can carry up to four crew members.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-18) 440hp engines, motor yacht Sandalphon is capable of reaching a top speed of 12 knots, and comfortably cruises at 9 knots.
