44 Crew

German builder Lurssen proudly delivered the world's 30th longest yacht, Kismet, in April 2024. One years earlier, Renaissance set sail as the world's 42nd longest yacht. The difference between the LOA is easily enough to park two Lamborghini Gallardos nose-to-boot.

Kismet accommodates 16 passengers with a crew of 37, while Renaissance carries 36 passengers with 44 crew members. So Kismet can sleep 20 fewer guests than Renaissance, and she has over 15% less crew to deal with service and operations. Additionally, Kismet can also accommodate just short of five of the guests' personal staff. Guests on both yachts can arrive in style, as they both have a helipad. Kismet's helipad, which is located forward on her upper deck, is a touch-and-go helipad, only certified for dropping off.

Gross tonnage (GT) is a way of measuring the size of a boat or ship, but it's not really about weight. Instead, it's more about how much space the boat takes up inside. A comparison of the GTs of Kismet and Renaissance effectively demonstrates why it provides a more accurate assessment of yacht size than overall length, as despite their similar length, Kismet has over 30% less usable space on board. The difference is the equivalent of almost 115 shipping containers. This is why we've introduced the YB100 by YachtBuyer, designed to improve how the world's biggest yachts are ranked. Positioned 55th in the YB100 rankings by GT, Kismet has a 23-spot descent from her position in the Top 100 based on length. Meanwhile, in the YB100, Renaissance holds the 31st position, standing 17 places higher than in the Top 100.

Kismet's range is 2,600 nm less than Renaissance's, and she suffers approximately a week, two days and an hour less cruising time. In a voyage stretching from the Seychelles to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, each yacht could be navigating for approximately two weeks and five days.
