The 488GT Queen Yaz becomes the largest yacht built by Dearsan, with Red Yacht Design responsible for her exterior and interior and Milimetriq handling naval architecture.
Queen Yaz Completes Construction at Dearsan
Built with a displacement steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Queen Yaz has a beam of 8.96m (29ft 5in), a draft of 2.45m (8ft), and a gross tonnage of 488GT. Red Yacht Design developed both the exterior and interior, while Milimetriq was responsible for naval architecture and engineering.
The project first became public in January 2025, by which point the hull and superstructure had been completed and the yacht had moved into outfitting. Queen Yaz was already scheduled for a 2026 completion at that stage.
Her dark hull gives the yacht a distinctive profile, with the exterior layout placing considerable emphasis on open deck areas. Rather than concentrating the principal guest spaces inside, several of the yacht's main social areas are distributed between the sun deck, bow and stern.
A Sun Deck Built Around Outdoor Living
The sun deck forms the main outdoor social area aboard Queen Yaz. Its arrangement includes a Jacuzzi, sunbeds, lounge seating, a bar and an alfresco dining area, creating several distinct spaces for guests across a single deck. More outdoor seating is positioned forward, where the main deck bow carries a substantial lounge. An additional lounge aft gives guests another open-air area closer to the motor yacht's principal interior spaces.
The stern is particularly notable. Rather than relying on a conventional enclosed beach club, Queen Yaz uses an open arrangement at water level. A long U-shaped sofa and sun loungers sit directly beside the swim platform, while fold-down bulwarks increase the usable deck area and provide room for further seating.
The configuration makes the stern a significant part of the yacht's guest layout rather than simply an access point for swimming and tenders. Together with the large sun deck and forward lounge, it reinforces the outdoor-focused brief established during the design process.
Warm, Natural Materials Shape the Interior
Inside, Red Yacht Design has taken a quieter approach. Light tones and natural materials define the interior, with the studio developing the spaces around the owner's requirements and a warm residential atmosphere. Full details of the accommodation arrangement have not been publicly disclosed, but the yacht's 488GT volume gives Red Yacht Design substantial interior space within a 50.2m platform.
Speaking when the project was first unveiled, Red Yacht Design Managing Director Fatih Sürekli said the design process had focused on sophistication and guest comfort, with Dearsan and Milimetriq working alongside the studio to develop the yacht from concept through construction.
Queen Yaz also arrives during a busy period for Red Yacht Design. The studio's recent work includes the 40m Aisha, an all-aluminum custom yacht launched in 2026 at Anadolu Shipyard. Aisha also carries interior and exterior design by Red Yacht Design and was developed around substantial family living areas.
Propulsion comes from two Caterpillar C32 diesel engines, each rated at 1,210kW or 1,622hp. Total installed output is therefore 2,420kW, equivalent to 3,244hp, driving twin propellers.
Queen Yaz Joins a Busy August for Superyacht Deliveries
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Queen Yaz enters service during a busy August for notable superyacht deliveries. Baglietto recently handed over the 60m Kinda II, the first Baglietto T60 and largest yacht completed in the Italian shipyard's 172-year history. French builder JFA Yachts followed with the 50.44m Canoa, its largest project to date and a hybrid explorer yacht designed for long-range cruising.
The month has also brought a significant delivery at the smaller end of the explorer market. Cantiere delle Marche delivered the 31m Mon Coeur, the first CdM RJ102 and the smallest model yet developed within the CdM RJ series. Together with the 50.2m Queen Yaz, the deliveries span four European and Turkish shipyards and include three projects that establish new size milestones for their respective builders.
