Award-Winning Omikron OT-60 motor yacht heads to Limassol Boat Show 2025

Omikron Yachts has confirmed its presence at the 2025 Limassol Boat Show, where they will present the multi-award-winning Omikron Yachts OT-60.

Running from 22 to 25 May, the show provides a strategic platform for the Greek shipyard to exhibit their flagship model alongside local partner Swiss Club Marine.

A New Type of Cruiser

The OT-60 isn’t a conventional motor yacht. Borrowing its shape and spirit from sailing yachts, the 18.4-meter vessel is often described as a “sailboat without sails.” Its exterior and interior design come from Lorenzo Argento, while Ciarmoli Queda Studio contributed to the interior styling.

The result is a low-profile, light-filled cruiser that balances sleek looks with function. Naval architecture is by Juan Kouyoumdjian, known for his work in performance sailing, who developed a bespoke Eco-Cruise hull that prioritizes range and efficiency.

That hull of the yacht design, paired with twin Yanmar engines, enables a cruising speed of 8 knots with a range of 1,000 nautical miles. Fuel consumption is impressively low at just 1.25 liters per nautical mile. For those looking to explore further afield or spend extended time onboard, the OT-60's balance of quiet performance and seakeeping ability hits a rare sweet spot.

Split-Level Interior Design

Despite its compact footprint, the OT-60 offers spacious living - a notable design feature onboard the boat is the split-level arrangement below deck, where guests arrive into an open-plan galley and dining area that benefits from double-height ceilings and natural light from above. This design softens the typical divide between inside and outside, offering panoramic views through near-360-degree windows in the main saloon.

Owners can choose between three or four cabins, each with its own en suite bathroom.

Materials and finishes reflect a natural palette, chosen to create a calm, uncluttered atmosphere. The absence of reflective surfaces and the generous use of glass enhance the connection to the sea while maintaining a low energy profile.

Industry Recognition for the OT-60

Since its debut and the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, the OT-60 has received multiple awards and nominations that highlight its fresh approach. In 2024, it won the European Powerboat of the Year in the Long Range category, as well as the Best of Boats Award and the World Yachts Trophy for "Revelation of the Year." It was also named a finalist in the 2025 Motor Boat Awards for innovation and shortlisted for Most Innovative Yacht in its size category at the World Yachts Trophies.

Critics have noted how the OT-60 bridges the gap between the simplicity of sailing and the convenience of motor cruising. Motor Boat & Yachting described it as a "remarkable hybrid" that feels tailor-made for Greek island cruising, while Passagemaker praised its blend of form, function, and Mediterranean flair.

From Flagship to Future Concepts

Launched in 2019 under Olympic Marine, Omikron Yachts works from the historic Lavrio shipyard near Athens. The yard links decades of shipbuilding experience with a design-led, low-impact approach to modern cruising. Its first production model, the OT-60, now moves through a serial build programme of 12 units per year, completed entirely in-house at Olympic Marine.

Omikron’s range is expanding. The new Omikron OT-80, a 24m motor yacht, offers five en suite cabins for up to ten guests and provides several layout choices. Naval architect Juan Kouyoumdjian and designer Lorenzo Argento shaped the hull and superstructure to deliver the same quiet, economical running that defines the OT-60. Further down the line, the Argo 54 super-sailer concept continues the brand’s focus on efficiency and environmentally conscious cruising.

Visitors can find the OT-60 on display at Swiss Club Marine’s stand in Area D, BW18-BW24 throughout the Limassol Boat Show, 22-25 May 2025.
