First GX42 Superyacht by GX Superyachts Revealed with Family-Focused Interior

GX Superyachts has unveiled the interior of the first 42m GX Superyachts GX42 , offering a detailed look at the family-focused layout and calming design language created by Marco Casali of Too Design.

The yacht is the debut model in the GX42 line and marks the first build under the GX Superyachts brand, an offshoot of Greenline Yachts, with delivery scheduled for 2026.

Hybrid Power and Long-Range Capability

The GX42 is based on a raised pilothouse (RPH) platform and features a slender, efficient hull developed by Francesco Rogantin of NAMES studio. The yacht is equipped with a serial hybrid propulsion system, battery bank and solar arrays capable of delivering up to 27kW, drawing on technology proven in the Greenline fleet. In electric mode, the GX42 can reach six knots and cover up to 100 nautical miles, while diesel propulsion delivers a top speed of 12 knots and a maximum range of 11,571 nautical miles at cruising speed. At anchor, the system supports hotel loads including air conditioning for up to 48 hours with no noise, vibration, or emissions.

For a boat with a slim, efficient hull, the volume is phenomenal, and we have put it to excellent use with full beam cabins, inviting social areas for relaxed living, and that wonderful upper deck."

The RPH variant of the GX42 has been selected for the first hull, giving the vessel a curved superstructure and a low-profile upper deck that balances performance and volume. A Coupé version is also offered, featuring a solar-panelled roof that slides open to reveal a hidden sundeck with Jacuzzi and bar. Both configurations incorporate a fold-down beach club and hydraulic swim platform.

Natural Tones and Soft Finishings

Casali’s design for the GX42 interior centers on natural materials and organic forms, intended to mirror the yacht’s sustainable ethos while fostering a tranquil, residential feel. Walnut wall paneling is paired with white leather and lacquered cabinetry, while soft furnishings use Italian fabrics and neutral tones, occasionally accented by earthy greens and ocean blues. Furniture from Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia features prominently throughout, chosen to echo the gentle curves of the yacht’s structure.

Every architectural element has been softened with broad radiuses, including ceiling coves, shelving, vanity surrounds and even the frames of televisions and mirrors. The result is a cohesive, fluid aesthetic that avoids hard edges and supports a calm onboard atmosphere.

Focal points have been introduced to anchor each room, such as a backlit Turkish marble feature wall beside the dining table, curated pieces from the owner's private art collection, and rippled metal panels that reflect the play of natural light and reference the motion of the sea.

Spacious Suites for Extended Stays

The RPH layout enables a full-beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck, which benefits from wide forward-facing views and a private foredeck terrace. The suite also includes a large walk-in wardrobe, a private office area, and a generous en suite bathroom.

This main deck arrangement opens up the lower deck for an expansive VIP suite, occupying the full beam and fitted with a fold-down balcony to port. The VIP stateroom features a kingsize bed, walk-through wardrobe and bathroom complete with rainforest shower and double basins, making it equally well-suited to a co-owner or primary guest.

Three additional guest cabins are located aft on the lower deck. Two of these feature beds that can be arranged as doubles or twins, while the third is configured as a children’s cabin with two singles and an optional Pullman berth. All guest cabins are ensuite and designed with extensive storage, reflecting the yacht’s long-range cruising ambitions.

Refined Deck Spaces

Outdoor areas are well considered for both lounging and socializing. Aft on the main deck, there is formal dining for 10 and a spacious salon.

Responsible Yachting with Family in Mind

“The debut GX42 shows what is possible, while remaining true to the principles of Responsible Yachting,” said Vladimir Zinchenko, owner of GX Superyachts. “For a boat with a slim, efficient hull, the volume is phenomenal, and we have put it to excellent use with full-beam cabins, inviting social areas for relaxed living and that wonderful upper deck.”

Casali echoed the sentiment: “This is no showboat for flexing the muscles. We worked closely with the owners to realise their priorities for a family-friendly design that favors extended periods on board.”

The GX42 is the first in a planned series of aluminum yachts ranging from 24 to 56 meters. The GX Superyachts GX42 Coupé offers a sportier profile and alternative layout to suit different owner preferences. The Coupé variant features a long, curved superstructure with a sliding solar-paneled roof that opens to reveal a hidden sun deck with a Jacuzzi and bar. Following its 2023 debut at the Monaco Yacht Show, the GX line expanded with the introduction of a 34-meter RPH model at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show, further broadening the brand’s commitment to responsible, long-range cruising.
