On Deck

The Vision F82 is an 82 foot catamaran, (around 25m in length), and it's absolutely vast. Even if you have been on one before, it still catches you out. The cockpit is enormous as a social space, with music on and a few friends aboard, it would make an exceptional gathering spot. There is simply room to spread out without ever getting in each other’s way.

Side decks are exceptionally wide and easy to move along. They make it easy to circulate around the boat without that careful single file shuffle common on narrower designs. Vision branding sits nicely on the topsides, with hull colour entirely owner selected.

Forward, the bow opens into another huge usable zone. This area now serves as a social and leisure space rather than storage, with provision for a bimini and a widescreen cinema setup. It is easy to imagine sitting forward at anchor watching a film out in the open air. Storage under the daybed is extensive, and there is more stowage tucked away than you first expect.

The flybridge continues the theme. It is vast. Right aft sits a full service bar with grill, fridges, storage and a hob, all laid out for proper entertaining rather than light snacks. Seating wraps around a large table and there is a fold away screen for dining or viewing. This example has the full length hardtop fitted, which suits hotter cruising grounds where shade matters more than open sunpads, though shorter roof options are available.

Forward on the flybridge is a huge sunpad and the upper helm. Side screens retract to open the space fully when conditions allow, with temporary blinds used for shade when required. Solar panels line the forward section here and continue across the hardtop above.

Access between decks is excellent. Multiple stairways connect levels, and internal doors lead straight out onto the foredeck. Despite the size, movement around the boat feels natural and unforced.

Interior Accommodation

On other examples of the VisionF 82 the galley can be sat down a level, this tour boat places the galley up in the main saloon. The galley stretches across it and is fully built in, with cupboards, dishwashers, hob and storage hidden neatly behind flush panels. Crockery and equipment are properly stowed rather than perched out on display. A bar area sits close by, reinforcing that this is a space designed for people rather than just food prep.

Two side entrances lead out from the saloon.  Window areas on this example appear larger, bringing in more light and giving the interior a subtly but noticeably different feel. Finishes here are light and neutral, but everything remains owner specified from materials to colour palette.

There is also an internal helm station within the saloon. While most owners will gravitate to the exterior helms, having the option to drive from inside still makes sense on longer passages or in poor weather.

Owner's Cabin

The owner’s cabin shows exactly why catamarans appeal to long range cruisers. The space is immense and it is the kind of volume that simply does not exist on a monohull of similar length.

Wardrobes, drawers and storage run along the cabin, much of it clearly in daily use.  Move aft and the ensuite continues the theme, with a large rainfall shower that genuinely accommodates two people, twin sinks and generous mirrors. Headroom and floor space are abundant throughout.

Guest Accommodation

Guest accommodation is spread across both hulls and remains consistently generous.

The VIP cabin mirrors the owner’s space in tone and scale, with substantial storage, shelving and hanging lockers. As with the rest of the boat, finishes and materials are fully configurable, though this example sticks to a light, calm scheme that suits the volume well.

Two further guest cabins sit on the opposite side. Both are proper bedrooms with square layouts and real breathing room. Each has its own ensuite with shower, toilet and basin. Storage is built in throughout, and all guest cabins benefit from genuine privacy and full bathroom facilities.

Crew Accommodation

This Vision F82 includes two separate crew cabins, positioned well apart.

One crew cabin sits forward and includes a single berth and its own ensuite. The second crew or captain’s cabin is located in a completely separate area accessed by its own staircase. Finished to guest cabin standards, it offers generous headroom, a proper berth and an ensuite with basin, toilet and rainfall shower.

This space could serve as overflow guest accommodation if required, but on this boat it functions as a dedicated captain’s cabin, finished to the same standard as the rest of the interior.

Performance & Engine Room

Each hull contains its own engine room, with both spaces laid out in the same way. Access is excellent. Once inside, you can walk comfortably around the engine, giving the feel of a large single engine room rather than a tight machinery space.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines, each rated at 800 horsepower. Top speed sits around 15 to 16 knots. The more interesting numbers appear at cruising speed. At roughly 8.5 knots, the boat offers an estimated range of about 3,000 nautical miles, giving it serious long distance capability.

Each hull houses a generator alongside air conditioning systems, fire suppression equipment and associated systems. A watermaker is fitted on the opposite side. Ventilation has been significantly upgraded on this example, addressing heat management and ensuring the engines remain well cooled.

Construction is aluminium throughout. Structural frames and gridwork are clearly visible within the machinery spaces, and large extraction fans underline the focus on airflow. Camera systems allow monitoring of the engine rooms from the helm displays.

The boat runs IPS joystick control with three helm stations in total. Garmin displays handle navigation and engine data, supported by full helm controls, VHF and onboard audio.

Ownership Considerations

Owning a power catamaran of this scale is a different proposition to running a conventional 24 to 26 metre monohull.  Starting with support and warranties, VisionF does not operate on an off the shelf warranty model in the way larger production yards do. The 82 is built to order, and warranty coverage is typically agreed as part of the build contract rather than advertised publicly. In practice, buyers can expect standard structural and systems coverage in line with other aluminium custom builds, usually backed by individual supplier warranties for engines, drives, electronics and major equipment. Extended cover and service agreements are normally handled through the selling broker or third party providers, which is fairly typical once you move into this size and level of customisation.

Berthing is one of the biggest practical considerations. Length is rarely the issue at around 25 metres, but beam can be. Many Mediterranean marinas will take a catamaran of this size, but availability is tighter and advance planning matters. High season berthing in prime locations can be expensive, and wide beam multihulls may attract surcharges or be limited to outer berths. Long term contracts, shoulder season cruising, or wintering outside the busiest marinas can make a meaningful difference to costs and stress levels. The flip side is where the boat can go once you leave the dock. The F82’s relatively shallow draft compared with a similar length monohull opens up anchorages that deeper boats simply cannot use. Shallow bays, island chains and quieter cruising grounds are all much more accessible, and at anchor the stability and deck space really come into their own. With its long range capability and CE Category A rating, this is a boat that lends itself to proper distance cruising rather than short hops between marinas.

From a systems point of view, this particular F82 also leans into lower generator reliance. The large solar array and battery capacity reduce run time at anchor, which helps with noise, fuel use and general wear. Systems are laid out to be accessed and serviced properly rather than hidden away, which matters once the novelty wears off and the miles start to add up.

For buyers weighing alternatives, two other large power cats worth considering in this bracket are the Silent 80 Open, with its stronger focus on electric and solar propulsion, and the Fountaine Pajot Power 80, which comes from a more series production background but with similarly ambitious volume and range.

In Summary

The Vision F82 at around 25 metres (82 ft) remains a boat that resets expectations once you step aboard. The volume is obvious, but it is the way that volume has been organised on this example that really defines it. Moving the galley into the saloon, reworking storage and battery placement, and refining crew accommodation changes how the boat works day to day. It is about space, range and the ability to live aboard comfortably for long periods. The fact that two Vision F82s can feel so different once you walk through them says everything about the flexibility of the platform.
