More Details

The 26.7m motor yacht Aida was delivered to her owners in 2019 by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. She features exterior design by Officina Italiana Design and interior styling by Marty Lowe.

Key Features

  • Enclosed flybridge helm
  • Open-plan floating loft interior
  • Extended beach club stern
  • Shallow draft cruising capability

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.2m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 115 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the eighth yacht built on the SX88 design. She was completed at Sanlorenzo's La Spezia yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

The Sanlorenzo SX88 Aida blends explorer yacht traits with the openness of a modern crossover yacht. Her profile carries the SX series’ signature near-vertical axe bow, high forward freeboard and flowing sheerline, while the aft sections open out into broad social spaces closer to a beach club yacht than a traditional flybridge design. Large single-piece side glazing keeps the superstructure visually light and gives the yacht a sharp, contemporary look underway.

Officina Italiana Design shaped the exterior around a continuous main deck concept, so the usual separation between cockpit, salon and foredeck is softened considerably. The enclosed upper helm is another defining SX88 feature. Retractable side windows allow the flybridge to shift between enclosed pilothouse and open-air terrace depending on weather conditions.

The aft deck is one of the yacht’s strongest features. Structural side arches frame the swim platform and conceal technical elements including the davit crane, keeping the area clean and uncluttered. The extended stern arrangement creates a large waterside lounge with direct tender access and generous open deck space.

Forward, the bow area has integrated seating and sunpads protected by the raised bulwarks. Stainless detailing and dark glazing contrast against the white hull and superstructure, while the broad beam and relatively low aft profile give Aida a planted, purposeful stance on the water.

Interior Design

Lissoni & Partners approached the SX88 interior as a “floating loft,” and Aida follows that concept closely. The main deck uses minimal structural interruption, so the salon, dining area and aft cockpit feel visually connected rather than divided into separate rooms.

Large near floor-to-ceiling windows pull natural light deep into the interior, while gloss white surfaces, pale flooring and warm timber detailing keep the spaces bright without feeling clinical. The salon includes a chaise lounge, large sofa and flatscreen television arranged around the expansive side windows, so the outside view remains central to the room.

A floating staircase subtly separates the salon from the forward dining area while preserving the open-plan layout. The dining space itself includes a bar and coffee station and benefits from strong natural light through the surrounding glazing.

The galley has its own dedicated crew entrance, helping service move discreetly through the yacht during guest trips. Additional refrigeration supports extended cruising, while practical additions such as a washer and dryer in the guest area make the yacht easier to live aboard for longer periods.

The enclosed flybridge adds another usable interior zone. With retractable side windows and weather protection, it works as a secondary lounge and helm space rather than a purely seasonal outdoor deck.

Accommodation

Aida accommodates up to eight guests across four cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite, one VIP cabin and two twin guest cabins. She also carries accommodation for up to four crew following an upgrade to the original crew layout.

The owner’s suite spans the full beam and includes a sofa, vanity area and walk-in wardrobe. Newly laid carpets soften the space, while large hull windows bring natural light into the cabin. The styling follows the rest of the yacht with pale finishes, warm timber accents and restrained detailing.

Guest accommodation continues the same contemporary approach. The VIP cabin and twin cabins use clean-lined cabinetry, bright surfaces and large glazing where possible to avoid the enclosed feel often found on yachts in this size category.

Crew accommodation has been revised to support four crew members rather than the original three-person setup.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by 3 x diesel Volvo Penta (IPS 1050) 800hp engines, motor yacht Aida is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18 knots. With her 9,300 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
