Design & Construction
Designed around a planing fiberglass hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 5.76m beam and a 1.77m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 78 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was completed at Princess' Headquarters yard in United Kingdom where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.
Exterior Design
Alexandra II has the sharp, low-profile look that defines the Princess S Class range, though the S78 adds noticeably more volume without losing the feel of a fast sports yacht. The profile stays long and lean thanks to the aggressively raked windscreen, low integrated sportbridge and dark wraparound glazing that stretches almost the full length of the superstructure. Large blade-shaped hull windows cut through the hull sides and pull natural light deep into the accommodation spaces below deck.
The sportbridge sits very low within the roofline, so the yacht keeps the appearance of an open sports cruiser rather than a bulky flybridge yacht. Up top, the space combines helm seating, lounging areas and sunpads beneath a lightweight hardtop, while the large opening sunroof over the main saloon helps blur the line between inside and outside while underway.
The foredeck has convertible seating and sunpad arrangements built into the raised bow area, creating another social space away from the cockpit. Aft, the hydraulic bathing platform leads up through a central walkway framed by twin sunpads, which is one of the S78’s signature layout details. The aft deck itself offers a broad entertaining area with direct connection into the saloon through large sliding glass doors.
Interior Design
The interior of Alexandra II follows a clean contemporary style with large uninterrupted windows, soft neutral furnishings and warm timber detailing throughout. Princess keeps the atmosphere bright and open, so the main deck feels larger than many yachts in this size range. Full-height side glazing brings in plenty of natural light while also keeping guests visually connected to the sea from almost every seating position.
The main saloon combines lounge seating aft with a formal dining space forward. The dining table itself has a sliding glass feature that allows the space to adapt easily between formal meals and casual day-to-day use. Ambient lighting runs subtly through ceiling panels, flooring details and furniture edges, adding depth in the evenings without becoming over-designed.
Forward of the saloon, the galley sits close enough to remain practical for entertaining while still keeping guest areas uncluttered. The raised helm position benefits from excellent visibility through the deeply angled windscreen, reinforcing the sporty feel of the yacht from inside as well as out. Large sliding doors aft open directly onto the cockpit, so the interior and exterior spaces work naturally together during warm-weather cruising.
Accommodation
Alexandra II accommodates up to eight guests across four ensuite cabins, with additional accommodation for up to two crew or owners’ staff aft.
The full-beam owner’s cabin sits amidships and benefits from the yacht’s wide 5.77m (18ft 11in) beam. Large hull windows flood the space with natural light, while the layout allows room for generous storage, lounge seating and a spacious ensuite bathroom.
Forward, the VIP cabin uses the sharp hull glazing to good effect and maintains the same contemporary styling as the master suite. Two additional twin guest cabins complete the accommodation layout, giving the yacht a flexible setup for families or mixed guest groups.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAN (V12-1900) 1,900hp engines, motor yacht Alexandra II is capable of reaching a top speed of 37 knots, and comfortably cruises at 25 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
