Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement w/ bulbous bow steel hull and a frp composite superstructure she features a 8.02m beam and a 2.57m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 362 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the twenty-third yacht built on the 37XP design.
Exterior Design
The Numarine 37XP has always looked like an explorer first. The upright bow, high hull sides and large angular glazing give it a fairly tough stance, while the long upper deck and broad superstructure make the most of the 8m (26.2ft) beam.
Hull 23 follows that same full displacement formula, with a steel hull and composite superstructure. The bulbous bow is part of the efficiency story, but visually it is the amount of usable deck that stands out. There is a lot of yacht here for 37m (121.4ft).
The upper deck is an important part of the 37XP layout. On the model, this area can carry a tender of up to around 9m (29.5ft) underway, using a 2,500kg crane, then becomes a large open guest deck once the tender is launched. That is a much better use of space than having a dedicated boat deck that sits empty at anchor.
Above it, the flybridge gives the 37XP another big outdoor area, with dining, lounging, wet bar and upper helm functions built into the platform. The foredeck adds another guest space away from the busier aft decks, with seating and sunbathing arranged ahead of the wheelhouse.
At the stern, the transom opens into a beach club at water level, giving the yacht a more relaxed side once the working gear is out of the way.
YachtBuyer has also been aboard a sistership, and our Numarine 37XP review gives a closer look at the model’s deck layout, tender handling and long range cruising setup.
Interior Design
The 37XP interior is built around light and volume rather than the darker, more enclosed feel you sometimes get on explorer yachts.
Can Yalman’s standard design uses large windows, pale woods, leather and marble, with quite a lot of hidden lighting worked into the joinery. The main saloon has big glazed areas on either side, and some of those windows can open to bring air through the room rather than relying entirely on air conditioning.
The central lobby is another good feature of the model. A glass staircase connects the main levels, with the gym and guest circulation arranged around it, so the middle of the yacht feels much more open than the tough exterior suggests.
The galley is set up for long stays aboard, with full height refrigeration, wine storage and a proper bank of Siemens appliances. A dumb waiter also serves the upper levels, which is useful on a yacht with this much vertical separation between galley and outside dining areas.
Accommodation
Hull 23 accommodates up to 12 guests in six suites, comprising an owner’s cabin, three VIP cabins and two twins.
That is a very useful mix for a yacht of this size. Three VIPs give adults a good spread of double accommodation, while the two twins add flexibility for children, younger guests or mixed charter groups.
Crew accommodation is for up to seven.
The 37XP platform was designed with enough volume to keep guest cabins, crew spaces and service areas from feeling squeezed together, and the 8m (26.2ft) beam is a big part of that.
Performance & Capabilities
Hull 23 is powered by twin MAN D2868 LE425 Medium Duty diesels, each producing 800hp at 2,100rpm.
Top speed is 14 knots and normal cruising speed is around 12 knots. With 49,000 litres of fuel, the yacht has a quoted maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles.
That number is really the point of the 37XP. This is a full displacement explorer built to cover long distances at sensible speeds rather than chase a big top speed figure.
The steel hull, bulbous bow and relatively modest power requirement all work towards that same brief.
