Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.5m beam and a 3.85m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,790 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2015. This was the third yacht built on the Amels 242 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in May 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2018.

Exterior Design

Casino Royale is a 74m (242ft) Amels superyacht built by the Dutch yard Amels, part of Damen Yachting, and delivered in 2018. Her exterior comes from Tim Heywood, whose design gives the yacht a long, balanced profile with clean horizontal deck lines and a relatively slim superstructure.

From the side, the yacht reads as elegant rather than bulky. The decks step back gradually toward the stern and the bridge wings extend well outboard, helping stretch the visual length of the profile. Large bands of glazing run along the guest decks, bringing natural light into the interior while maintaining the yacht’s classic multi deck superyacht proportions.

The hull is steel, paired with an aluminium superstructure, a construction typical for large displacement yachts of this size. This combination provides structural strength, good acoustic insulation and stability during long passages.

Casino Royale carries a dark cream hull colour, which contrasts with the white superstructure and radar mast above. The bow rises high above the waterline, a shape typical of ocean crossing yachts designed to handle offshore conditions.

A key exterior feature is the 6.5m infinity swimming pool on the main deck aft. Positioned directly above the swim platform, the pool becomes a focal point for the entire aft deck area. It is heated, can run with fresh or salt water, and includes a counter current system for swimming.

Outdoor spaces are spread across several levels. The owner’s deck aft provides a private outdoor lounge with a fire pit and dining space, while the bridge deck offers a large dining area, bar and barbecue. At the top of the yacht, the sun deck centres around a hot tub surrounded by sunpads and seating.

Below the decks, a large tender garage stores the yacht’s limo tender, RIB and jet skis, all launched through side shell doors using overhead cranes.

Interior Design

The interior of Casino Royale was designed by Winch Design, with spaces arranged to support both formal entertaining and relaxed living on board.

The main saloon acts as the yacht’s primary indoor social space. A large dining table sits beneath a sculptural lighting installation designed to mirror the shape of the table itself. The arrangement creates a clear focal point when guests gather for dinner.

Just beyond the dining area, the room opens into a lounge arranged around a large television. Sofas provide a comfortable setting for drinks before dinner or a film afterwards.

One unusual feature here is the transparent grand piano, which allows guests to see the instrument’s internal strings through the clear lid.

Circulation through the yacht centres on a marble staircase and elevator lobby. The elevator connects multiple decks, while the staircase curves through the space with a decorative snake motif that winds down through the stairwell.

Further up on the bridge deck, Casino Royale includes a nightclub style sky lounge. The room features a floating bar and programmable lighting built into the floor and ceiling. During the day it works as a relaxed media room with sofas and a large television.

Practical spaces are positioned close to the guest areas. The main galley sits on the main deck, large enough for two chefs to prepare meals for guests and crew. Nearby crew passages allow staff to move through the yacht efficiently without disturbing guest areas.

Accommodation

Casino Royale accommodates guests across several levels of the yacht.

Two VIP suites sit forward on the main deck, each with ensuite bathrooms and large windows on both sides of the hull. The forward VIP includes a bathtub beside the window along with a separate shower and twin sinks, while the second VIP offers a larger dressing area and workspace.

On the lower deck, three additional guest cabins provide further accommodation. The layout includes two double cabins and one twin, all with ensuite bathrooms, walk in wardrobes and large windows close to the waterline.

These cabins sit directly beside the yacht’s wellness centre, allowing guests to move easily between their cabins and the spa facilities.

The spa area includes a central jacuzzi, gym, sauna and steam room, along with a relaxation space. A section of the hull folds down to create a sea level terrace, allowing guests to step directly from the spa area into the water.

Above the guest accommodation sits one of Casino Royale’s defining features: the private owner’s deck.

The owner’s suite occupies the forward part of this deck, with a centreline bed facing directly toward the bow. Large windows bring in views over the water from the bed itself.

The suite includes separate his and hers bathrooms and dressing areas, each finished in marble and fitted with large showers and windows.

Just aft of the suite is a private owner’s office, positioned beside large windows so the desk faces the view outside.

The remainder of the deck includes a lounge, bar and round dining table, allowing the owner to host guests privately. Outdoor terraces at the front and aft of the deck provide additional seating areas, including an aft lounge arranged around a fire pit.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516C) 2,719hp engines, motor yacht Casino Royale is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 165,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
