The new TurboJet 280MX and TurboJet 320MX are aimed at targeting both first-time buyers and an established replacement market across yachts in the 40-70ft sector.
New TurboJet MX Targets a Lower Entry Price
Williams says more than 5,000 of its tenders are currently installed aboard yachts between 40ft and 70ft, giving the British manufacturer a sizeable pool of existing owners who may be approaching their next tender purchase. The company is also looking beyond replacement demand, positioning MX as a more accessible route into Williams ownership during a period of slower new yacht sales in parts of this size category.
Williams claims the MX models are around 20% less expensive at retail than comparable jet tenders and approximately 30% lighter than competing models. The latter could matter as much as price for buyers working around bathing platform limits, lifting equipment or restricted tender garages.
For many owners, you would have to go back to 2017 to find a new Williams tender at this price point."

Both are available with white or grey tubes and receive new upholstery. Williams says the boats have been tested for performance, stability and handling.
TurboJet 280MX: 60hp and 230kg
The smaller TurboJet 280MX measures 2.79m (9ft 2in) long and 1.54m (5ft 2in) across the beam, with a dry weight of 230kg. A BRP Rotax ACE 903 60hp petrol engine provides a claimed maximum speed of 42mph, while seating is arranged for three adults and one child.
Fuel capacity is 28 liters, overall height is 0.83m, or 0.71m with the quick-release steering wheel fitted. Williams lists the model for typical installation aboard motor yachts from 11m (36ft).
Those figures place the 280MX close to the outgoing MiniJet 280 in size and weight. The MiniJet measures the same 2.79m in length and 1.54m in beam, weighs 227kg and uses a 60hp BRP Rotax engine, but has a quoted maximum speed of 40mph. Production of the MiniJet 280 is due to finish in September 2026, with yacht fitments then moving to the MX platform.
TurboJet 320MX: More Seats and 90hp
Owners needing additional capacity can move up to the TurboJet 320MX. At 3.19m (10ft 5in) long and 1.62m (5ft 3in) wide, it carries four adults and one child but still weighs 255kg dry.
Power rises to 90hp from a BRP Rotax ACE 903 petrol engine, pushing the claimed maximum speed to 45mph. Fuel capacity remains 28 liters. Williams recommends the 320MX for yachts from 14-20m (46-66ft), putting it directly into a key part of the company's existing TurboJet market.
Its overall height of 0.85m can be reduced to 0.73m by removing the steering wheel, an important measurement for owners assessing garage clearance.
TurboJet or TurboJet MX: Which Makes Sense for Your Yacht?
The MX range does not replace the established TurboJet 285, 285LP and 325. Instead, it creates a lighter alternative alongside them.
The differences are particularly clear at the smaller end. The 2.90m TurboJet 285 weighs 315kg and carries a 90hp Rotax ACE 903, delivering a quoted maximum speed of 46mph. The 280MX is 11cm shorter, 16cm narrower and 85kg lighter, but gives up 30hp and 4mph of maximum speed. Its 28-liter fuel tank is also smaller than the 285's 40-liter capacity.
For buyers choosing between the 320MX and TurboJet 325, the gap is narrower in performance but significant in weight. Both use 90hp engines and seat four adults plus one child. The 3.29m TurboJet 325 weighs 325kg and reaches a claimed 48mph, against 255kg and 45mph for the 3.19m 320MX. The 325 also carries 40 liters of fuel rather than 28 liters.
In practical terms, the MX gives buyers a route to substantially lower weight without a major reduction in passenger capacity. The established TurboJets offer larger fuel tanks and slightly higher quoted performance, while the 285 provides considerably more power than the similarly sized 280MX.
