The Sunseeker Predator 55 is a 17.14m (56ft 3in) British-built sportscruiser with three cabins and no flybridge, designed for private cruising without crew. It combines a tender garage, open cockpit, and carbon sunroof with IPS or shaft-drive propulsion depending on build year and spec.
Top speed sits around 35 knots with cruising in the mid-20s. Most boats carry joystick control and upgraded stabilisation. A hydraulic platform, tender garage for a Williams 325, and side-deck access to a raised foredeck lounge all come as standard. Inside, the galley is usually placed on the main deck opposite the helm, with options to move it below if more upper seating is needed.
Buyers can choose between two- and three-cabin versions. The owner’s cabin sits full beam amidships with space for a dinette or sofa. A VIP is forward with scissor-action berths that split or join. The third twin cabin connects to either a private ensuite or a utility room with laundry and stowage. Across the model’s run, Sunseeker shifted from shaft drive to IPS, updated the deck moulding to improve engine access, changed the helm layout, and added more glazing and lighting in the saloon.
This is a practical owner-run boat with joystick control, all-weather shelter, and enough space to live aboard for a week or two. It docks easily, runs quietly, and doesn’t need crew. Buyers use it for Med cruising, East Coast trips, and island runs in the Caribbean.
