The redesigned Beneteau 40-footer is part of a wider overhaul that also includes new Beneteau Gran Turismo 35 and Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 models, all of which will launch over the coming months.
A fresh take on a proven favorite
The original Gran Turismo 40, built between 2015 and 2021, helped cement Beneteau’s reputation in the express cruiser segment. It featured a planing hull, two cabins for up to four guests, an open cockpit with a large sunroof, and a transom wet bar that made it a versatile boat for socializing.

The new boat model retains that focus on outdoor living while adopting a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the Japanese design principles of Kanso (simplicity) and Yūgen (gracefulness).

This rich heritage and the adoption of the Japanese design principles of Kanso (simplicity) and Yūgen (gracefulness) have allowed the team to create a deceptively simple but powerful silhouette that is further enhanced by how we have used the play of light to direct and enhance the exterior styling and interior tranquility."

Beneteau
Beneteau’s design team has aimed to create “villa living” on the water, with a 30% increase in exterior deck space compared with the outgoing models. The layout of the yacht prioritizes flexible social zones, sunbathing areas, and a closer connection to the water.

High-end materials, subtle lighting, and opportunities for personalization all form part of the new approach. The shipyard has also renewed its partnership with Alpine to produce limited-edition versions across the range.
Driving dynamics inspired by GT heritage
True to the Gran Turismo name, the new generation promises a sports car-like driving experience. The motor yachts have been engineered for comfort at speed, with responsive handling, long-range cruising potential, and excellent helm protection. Solar panels and lithium batteries reduce the need for generators at anchor, powering amenities and water toys quietly and efficiently. Advanced gyro stabilisation will feature across the range for a smoother ride both underway and at rest.
Exploring the Gran Turismo Line-up for Buyers
For buyers exploring the Gran Turismo range, Beneteau offers a variety of models to suit different needs and cruising styles. The Beneteau Gran Turismo 36 is the entry point to the line-up. At 12.4 meters, it features two cabins for up to four guests and a flexible deck plan with a wet bar, foredeck sunpad, and cockpit seating for up to eight. It is well suited to weekends on the water, combining lively handling with the comforts of a compact cruiser.

Stepping up to 12.6 meters, the Beneteau Gran Turismo 41 retains the sporty profile but provides more space for extended trips. Its two private cabins and well-equipped galley make it a practical choice for cruising couples or small families. A U-shaped saloon and outdoor galley create a sociable main deck, while the lower deck layout emphasizes comfort and usability.

The Beneteau Gran Turismo 45 is a larger 14.8-meter model that adds a third cabin and space for up to six guests. Standout features include Beneteau’s Air Step hull for improved efficiency, a versatile foredeck seating area, and a U-shaped cockpit with a retractable TV integrated into the wet bar. Its blend of performance, style, and adaptable living spaces makes it a strong option for buyers seeking a more luxurious express cruiser experience.

The debut of the next-generation Gran Turismo 40 at Cannes marks a significant refresh of one of Beneteau’s best-known express cruisers, arriving alongside the new Gran Turismo 35 and 50. Together, these launches signal the shipyard’s renewed focus on style, performance, and lifestyle features tailored to modern cruising.
