VIDEO: Fairline Targa 58 GTO Motor Yacht Reaches Major Build Milestone Ahead of Cannes Debut

The upcoming Fairline Targa 58 GTO has reached one of the most significant stages in construction, with the deck and hull officially joined as the British builder moves its new flagship sports yacht into the final fit-out phase ahead of its expected debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The update marks the point where the profile of the new Fairline model fully begins to emerge. Hull and deck joining is one of the key stages in yacht construction, requiring precise alignment as structural sections are brought together before interior installation, systems integration, and finishing work continue.

The New Flagship of the Targa Range Takes Shape

Positioned above the current Fairline Targa lineup, the Targa 58 GTO introduces a larger platform built around open-air living, flexible entertaining spaces, and a stronger emphasis on indoor-outdoor connection. The yacht carries a more assertive exterior profile than previous Targa models, with redesigned sheer lines, updated balcony arrangements, and illuminated branding integrated into the hull and side sections.

The styling continues the direction introduced across Fairline’s latest generation while pushing the series further into flagship territory. At just under 18m (58ft 11in) overall with a beam of 4.99m (16ft 4in), the model sits firmly in the upper end of the sports yacht segment and is intended to bridge day boating appeal with extended cruising capability.

Social Layout Prioritizes Open Living

Much of the Targa 58 GTO’s design work centers on how guests move through the yacht. The cockpit bar connects directly with the galley, while port and starboard access points create a more open circulation pattern across the main deck. Rather than separating entertaining zones, the arrangement creates a continuous social space stretching from the aft deck toward the interior.

Inside the saloon, Fairline has reworked the furniture arrangement with a relocated sideboard to free additional floor space, while a U-shaped dining area seats up to eight guests. Access to the side balcony and walkways is designed to remain unobstructed, helping maintain movement around the motor yacht during entertaining or longer stays aboard.

Below deck, accommodation is arranged for six to seven guests across multiple cabins, with owners able to specify either additional storage or a crew space depending on cruising plans.

Beach Club and Tender Garage Expand Waterside Use

The aft section introduces one of the yacht’s more notable lifestyle features. Fairline has redesigned the beach club and tender garage area to accommodate a Williams 325 tender alongside water toys including a Seabob, while still leaving room for loose deck equipment and furniture.

The space includes a dedicated launch system, integrated lighting at multiple levels, transom speakers, and an optional shower positioned near the garage entrance. Rather than functioning purely as storage, the area has been designed as an extension of the waterside experience, particularly when the yacht is anchored.

Power and Cruising Capability

Propulsion comes from Volvo Penta D13 engines, available in either 900hp or 1000hp configurations and paired with shaft drives. Fairline has positioned the yacht for offshore cruising under CE Category B certification, balancing performance expectations with longer-distance usability.

While official performance figures have not yet been released, the configuration suggests the builder is targeting the mix of speed, stability, and extended cruising comfort that has traditionally defined the Targa series. The move to a larger flagship also places greater emphasis on onboard flexibility, particularly for owners stepping up from mid-size sports cruisers into yachts capable of longer stays aboard.

A Growing Targa Line Heads Toward a New Flagship

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the arrival of the Targa 58 GTO expands Fairline’s current Targa family to seven models, with three of those yachts already YachtBuyer reviewed.

At the smaller end sits the Fairline Targa 40, a model that recently secured the Motor Boat Awards 2025 title in the Sportscruisers up to 45ft category. Our in-depth YachtBuyer review highlighted its confident handling, premium finish, and particularly well-developed cockpit arrangement, with the 12m model balancing sports cruiser performance with practical overnight accommodation.

Moving upward, the Fairline Targa 45 Open introduces a more Mediterranean character through its open cockpit, large sunroof, tender garage and full-beam owner’s suite. The model keeps the sporting personality of the series while stretching further into luxury day boating and weekend cruising territory.

The Fairline Targa 50 GT then shifts toward longer stays aboard. Enclosed deck protection, flexible cabin arrangements, optional galley layouts and IPS propulsion give it a more cruising-focused identity while retaining the sharp profile associated with the Targa name.
