On Deck

Finished in a head-turning Ibiza Blue, the SAY 42's carbon fibre construction and supercar styling are about drama, speed, and clean, aggressive lines. The bathing platform at the stern provides access on both port and starboard sides, and there are stainless steel vents and carbon detailing throughout.

Deck showers are installed on both sides, and the aft cockpit features a table that drops to create a larger sunpad area using doubled-up cushions. This particular model also includes an expensive optional Marianne mast, again finished in exposed carbon fibre. Storage spaces are subtly integrated across the deck, including hatches under seats and aft lockers large enough for Seabobs, fenders and other gear.

The foredeck view is equally striking, running clean forward from the helm and showing off the boat’s low profile and performance stance.

Interior Accommodation

Step below deck and you find a small cabin space that suits the Say 42’s out-and-out performance character. It’s not trying to be a family cruiser - much like a Lamborghini isn't trying to be a people carrier. Still, it manages to include a double berth with ambient lighting and large hull windows that bring in natural light.

There's a second fridge here too, making it possible to stock cold drinks or picnic supplies. A clever detail is the hinged step arrangement, which lifts to provide improved access to a lower storage area beneath the dash. This can double as an extra berth in a pinch, but headroom is extremely tight - best used for stowing bags or kit.

There’s no full galley - just a sink and fridge for essentials. It’s a ‘blast-to-lunch’ sort of setup: shoot down the coast, moor up at a beach club or restaurant, then roar back in style.

The helm is clearly the heart of the experience. Shockwave S6 suspension seats point to serious high-speed intent, and the setup includes joystick control, multifunction displays, wireless phone charging, and excellent visibility over the foredeck.

Performance

Access to the engine bay is via a concealed electric lift hatch aft. Inside, the carbon fibre construction continues, showing a consistent commitment to lightweight, high-performance materials. Storage compartments flank the engine space, with plenty of room for accessories and deck kit.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta V8s, each producing 430hp. The SAY 42 is capable of hitting 50 knots at full throttle. Cruising sits comfortably between 30-40 knots, with a rough range of 300 nautical miles depending on conditions. Fuel consumption sits around 50 litres (13.2 gallons) per hour at 20 knots - not bad considering the performance on tap.

The Petestep hull is designed for speed and handling. During test runs, the boat proved exceptionally stable through wake crossings and tight turns, with no slamming or jarring. Even at 40 knots, passengers could hold a conversation - which is a credit to the hull dynamics and ride quality.

In Summary

The Say 42 isn’t trying to be all things to all people. It’s a carbon-fibre, V8-powered aquatic supercar with styling and purpose straight out of the sports car world. Every bit of the boat is about excitement, from the sculpted exterior lines to the stripped-back cabin and shock-mounted helm seats.

It’s not a cruiser. It’s not for entertaining large groups. It’s about the feel of the helm, the sound of the engines, and the sensation of speed. The test run delivered everything promised - quick acceleration, agile handling, and comfort at pace. And with options to charter in places like Ibiza, there’s a route in even if you're not ready to buy. Either way, it’s a boat that grabs attention and doesn’t let go.
