Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.4m beam and a 3m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 781 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in March 2011 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2011.
Exterior Design
The 55m (180.4ft) Heesen superyacht After You combines performance and elegance with a distinctive exterior that reflects Heesen’s Dutch craftsmanship. Originally finished in a custom metallic dark red paired with oyster white, the colour scheme was inspired by Montemaggio Merlot, echoing the first owner’s passion for Tuscan wines. Following a later refit, the yacht adopted her current dark blue hull, a refined contrast to her pale superstructure.
Her exterior profile is defined by a pelican beak bow and a subtle reverse sheer that gives the yacht a sense of forward motion even at rest. The high freeboard, side balconies, and sweeping arches add height and visual rhythm, while the glazed side decks soften the lines at the stern. On the foredeck, the teak surface doubles as both tender storage and a guest relaxation zone, fitted with sun pads and sheltered by low bulwarks.
At the aft, twin staircases flank the transom door, leading down to the beach club and water sports area concealed behind it. The bathing platform extends further when floating platforms are deployed, transforming the area into an expansive waterside playground.
The main deck aft centres on a large plunge pool surrounded by cream seating and light-wood detailing. A curved staircase to starboard links this area to the upper deck, and wide side decks with angled bulwarks maintain privacy while ensuring smooth movement around the yacht. Forward of the pool, a shaded porch-style dining area sits beneath flowing wood panels, complete with a mounted television and a bar behind glass doors on either side.
Rounded deck edges and soft transitions between levels give After You an organic flow from bow to stern. Notably, she was the first yacht in the Heesen fleet to feature a tender bay that can be flooded for effortless launching and recovery, a practical innovation that has since become a signature of the yard.
Interior Design
The interiors of After You are contemporary and calm, designed around a palette of soft blues, greys, and creams that echo the sea outside. Polished oak flooring and darker wood highlights create a sense of texture and warmth, while touches of leather and silk add a subtle luxury. Large windows and simple linen curtains ensure natural light fills every space, keeping the atmosphere bright and easygoing.
The main salon opens through power glass doors from the aft deck into an expansive lounge with an onyx-topped bar as its centrepiece. Twin wine fridges sit beneath backlit shelves, and a chess or card table occupies one corner. Pale walls and shell accents give the room a coastal tone, while curved joinery softens the edges and enhances the feeling of space. A vast sofa faces a wall-mounted television, and a grand piano provides a social focus near the forward end of the room.
Throughout the guest areas, the décor blends relaxed neutrals with thoughtful detail. Cabins feature creams and browns uplifted by turquoise and sage green accents. Beds are mounted on rich brown leather bases, and abstract artwork adds personality. The combination of materials creates harmony between softness and structure, giving each room its own character without breaking from the yacht’s wider aesthetic.
The bridge deck sky lounge carries the same easy refinement. Curved glass doors frame deep couches and another large television, while the circular dining area is surrounded by glazing to preserve panoramic views. A skylight above the table floods the space with daylight, linking it visually to the al fresco dining zone aft.
Behind the scenes, the professional galley sits within the crew domain, fitted with large cold stores, a dumbwaiter serving the upper decks, and direct access to the crew mess. The bridge forward is equipped with an advanced navigation suite, a captain’s office, and an adjoining cabin.
Accommodation
After You accommodates up to 12 guests in six suites, comprising an owners cabin, 1 VIP cabin, 2 double cabins and a twin cabin. The main deck owner’s suite spans the full beam forward, combining a private lounge, dressing room, and office. Two curved glass doors open to secluded terraces on either side, creating quiet outdoor retreats directly off the cabin. The ensuite features a freestanding black tub, twin vanities, and a separate shower and toilet.
Adjacent to the owner’s suite is a spacious VIP cabin, ideal for family members, staff, or security. Large windows bring in natural light, and the ensuite includes a walk-in shower. On the lower deck, two double cabins and one twin cabin provide generous accommodation for guests, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The final cabin can be divided into two separate spaces via a sliding wall, each with independent storage and entertainment systems.
Crew quarters accommodate up to 13, with a large mess, laundry facilities, and multiple cabins located forward on the lower deck. The captain’s cabin sits beside the bridge, ensuring easy access during operations.
