More DetailsThe 31.08m motor yacht Amwaj was delivered to her owners in 2020 by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. She features exterior design by Zuccon International Project and interior styling by H2 Yacht Design.
Key Features
- Asymmetric wide-body layout
- 28-knot top speed
- Fold-out sea balcony
- Hydraulic swim platform
Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.06m beam and a 1.9m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 180 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was completed at Sanlorenzo's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in August 2020.
Exterior Design
Amwaj's defining feature is the asymmetric layout of the SL102 itself. The port-side exterior passageway has been absorbed into the superstructure, allowing the main saloon to extend fully to port with floor-to-ceiling glazing and uninterrupted sea views. A single starboard side deck remains for circulation, while the port-side upper walkway is concealed within the design through a trompe l'œil treatment that keeps the yacht visually balanced from outside.
Long horizontal glazing bands stretch across the hull and superstructure, visually lowering the profile and reinforcing the yacht’s clean, linear appearance. The bow carries a sharp V-shaped entry with an aggressive rake forward, while the raised pilothouse blends smoothly into the flybridge structure above.
Outdoor spaces are spread across three principal deck zones. The aft cockpit connects directly to the saloon and supports open-air dining, while the foredeck integrates a recessed lounge area into the superstructure without interrupting the yacht’s flowing sheer line. Above, the sundeck combines loose lounge seating, dining space, and sunpads beneath a retractable Bimini arrangement.
At the stern, the profile cascades naturally into a terraced beach club arrangement with a hydraulic swim platform and broad teak steps leading toward the water. From above, the aft layout creates a strong layered effect between the beach club, aft deck dining area, and upper lounge spaces.
Interior Design
The asymmetric layout transforms the main saloon experience immediately. Without a port-side corridor cutting through the interior, the saloon feels substantially wider than a traditional 32m (105ft) yacht. Full-height glazing on one side works alongside a fold-out balcony on the other, creating a much stronger visual connection to the water.
Grey oak parquet flooring runs throughout the main deck, paired with matte-black lacquer detailing, bronze marble surfaces, and carefully selected Italian furniture pieces. The saloon seating arrangement centres around twin B&B Italia sofas and Baxter coffee tables, while the dining area incorporates a custom bronze marble dining table with integrated bench seating finished in leather.
Natural light becomes one of the dominant design elements onboard. Long horizontal windows stretch through the guest areas, while the muted palette avoids overly glossy surfaces or excessive contrast. The effect is contemporary but restrained, which suits the Sanlorenzo approach well.
Accommodation
Amwaj accommodates up to 10 guests across five ensuite cabins, with additional accommodation for up to five crew members.
The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and benefits directly from the yacht’s asymmetric architecture. The wider internal beam creates more usable floor area and stronger natural light within the cabin. Large side windows pull sea views directly into the room while maintaining privacy.
Below deck are four additional guest cabins comprising two VIP suites and two double cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms and contemporary detailing consistent with the main deck spaces. Neutral finishes, oak textures, and restrained lighting continue throughout the accommodation areas, maintaining a consistent atmosphere across the yacht.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96) 16-cylinder 2,434hp engines, motor yacht Amwaj is capable of reaching a top speed of 28 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots. With her 12,100 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,350 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
