Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.9m beam and a 2.11m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 290 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The Sanlorenzo SD118 AV1 is one of the most contemporary interpretations of the long-range navetta concept. Designed by Zuccon International Project, the 35.75m (117.3ft) yacht combines the high-volume proportions of a displacement cruiser with sharper, more architectural styling than earlier SD models.
A near-vertical bow gives the yacht a strong forward presence and extends the waterline, while the high freeboard creates substantial interior volume without making the profile appear bulky. Long bands of dark glazing run almost uninterrupted through the superstructure, visually lowering the yacht and drawing the eye aft. The effect is particularly striking amidships, where the glazing and recessed bulwarks create a lighter appearance than the yacht's 291GT volume might suggest.
The SD118's layout centres on outdoor living. Forward, the bow lounge spans two levels and combines sunpads, seating and dining space within a sheltered setting. AV1's owner's suite connects directly to this area through a private staircase, giving the forward deck a level of exclusivity rarely found on yachts of this size.
A folding balcony on the port side of the upper deck extends the skylounge out over the water, while the stern transforms into a 19m² (205ft²) beach club through a combination of opening terraces and a hydraulic swim platform. Above, the sundeck provides another social space beneath a T-top hardtop, while the Portuguese bridge creates a useful transition between the upper deck and foredeck areas.
Interior Design
AV1's interior was developed by the owner in collaboration with Piero Lissoni, giving the yacht a distinctly residential feel that differs from many production superyachts. Clean lines, carefully selected materials and understated detailing create a calm environment throughout the guest spaces.
The main deck saloon uses American walnut flooring in place of carpet, while custom cabinetry, polished metal detailing and dark mirror finishes add contrast without overwhelming the space. A bespoke C-shaped bar finished in Nero Assoluto granite forms a focal point within the main saloon, while large windows draw natural light deep into the interior.
A sculptural open staircase links the decks and acts as one of the yacht's signature design elements. The staircase combines dark metallic finishes, slate detailing and curved architectural forms that soften the transition between levels.
The upper deck skylounge offers a second interior gathering space with flexibility for formal dining or casual lounging. Sliding glass doors open onto the portside balcony, while a concealed 65-inch television and custom furnishings allow the room to adapt to different uses throughout the day.
Throughout the yacht, the Lissoni design package introduces upgraded materials including Bronze Amani marble, smoked mirrors, Tatami wall coverings, bespoke cabinetry and extensive custom joinery.
Accommodation
AV1 accommodates up to 10 guests across five en-suite staterooms and carries up to six crew in four cabins. The layout makes full use of the Sanlorenzo SD118's 7.9m (25.9ft) beam, creating guest spaces that feel closer to those found on significantly larger yachts.
The owner's suite occupies the prime position on the main deck forward. Full beam in width, it includes a dressing room, vanity desk, generous bathroom finished in Bronze Amani marble and a private staircase leading directly to the foredeck lounge. This arrangement creates a rare connection between the owner's cabin and an exclusive outdoor space, allowing the foredeck to function almost as a private terrace.
Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck and consists of two VIP cabins, one additional double cabin and a twin cabin. The twin cabin features an L-shaped arrangement and can convert into a lounge area when required, adding flexibility for different ownership or charter needs.
Crew accommodation is positioned forward on the lower deck and includes four cabins for up to six crew, comprising a captain's cabin, engineer's cabin and two bunk cabins.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAN (12V D2862) 1,400hp engines, motor yacht AV1 is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 32,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,800 nautical miles at 11 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
