Delivered in 2018, Balance is a 24.59m motor yacht built by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Officina Italiana Design, while Sanlorenzo is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 5.74m beam and a 1.83m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 70 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fourteenth yacht built on the SL78 design. Launched in July 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Sanlorenzo's La Spezia yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in August 2018.
Exterior Design
Balance is the 14th hull in Sanlorenzo's highly successful SL78 series, a model that played an important role in the builder's growth during the late 2010s. At 24.59m (80.7ft), she sits at the entry point to the Sanlorenzo planing range, yet carries many of the design ideas and custom-build standards developed for the yard's larger yachts.
Penned by Officina Italiana Design, the exterior combines strong volume with a surprisingly light appearance. The near-vertical bow gives the yacht extra internal volume forward, while a subtle reverse sheer at the stem adds a sense of movement even when at rest. Unlike many production flybridge yachts of this size, the superstructure avoids excessive height. The flybridge sits low within the profile, and the hardtop flows cleanly into the radar arch, helping the yacht maintain a sleek, balanced stance.
The most distinctive feature of the SL78 is Sanlorenzo's lowered gunwale design. By dropping the bulwarks alongside the main saloon, the designers created unusually large windows that extend closer to floor level than traditional flybridge yachts. The effect is immediately visible from outside, where a long ribbon of dark glazing stretches almost uninterrupted through the superstructure, and from inside, where guests enjoy far better views and natural light than was typical in this size range when the model launched.
Balance also incorporates one of the SL78's most clever engineering solutions. Rather than storing a tender on the swim platform or flybridge, Sanlorenzo created a concealed garage beneath the aft sunpad. The system houses a Williams 395 Jet Tender and preserves the yacht's clean profile while keeping the hydraulic swim platform free for use as a waterside terrace.
The flybridge provides a second social deck with sunbathing space, dining areas and a helm station beneath the streamlined hardtop. Adjustable louvers allow shade and airflow to be controlled throughout the day, while custom awnings fitted to Balance expand the amount of protected outdoor space available.
Interior Design
Balance demonstrates why the SL78 became one of Sanlorenzo's strongest-selling models. Rather than relying on fixed production layouts, the platform gave owners considerable freedom to tailor the interior, and this yacht benefits from a number of bespoke upgrades specified during construction.
The lowered gunwale design has a dramatic impact on the main saloon. Large windows flood the space with daylight and create near-panoramic views, while the relatively modest 70GT volume feels considerably larger than the figures suggest. The result is closer to the atmosphere of a floating apartment than a conventional 24-metre flybridge yacht.
A neutral palette runs throughout the interior, creating a calm and contemporary feel. Balance was customised with a bespoke marble-topped dining table and upgraded finishes, while the owner's suite received marble flooring as part of the original build specification. These details add individuality without altering the clean design language developed by Mauro Micheli and the Officina Italiana Design team.
The interior also reflects Sanlorenzo's long-standing approach to yacht building. Although the SL78 was positioned as the entry point to the range, owners could specify layouts, materials and detailing usually associated with much larger semi-custom projects.
Accommodation
Balance accommodates up to eight guests across four ensuite cabins, along with accommodation for two crew.
The full-beam owner's suite occupies the yacht's widest section and benefits from the substantial volume created by the 5.74m (18.8ft) beam. Large hull windows bring natural light deep into the cabin, while upgraded finishes and marble flooring give the space a distinctly custom feel.
Forward, the VIP cabin provides a generous guest suite with ensuite facilities and good separation from the remaining accommodation. A further double cabin and a twin cabin complete the guest layout, creating a practical arrangement for families, couples or charter groups.
All four cabins feature ensuite bathrooms, allowing each guest cabin to function as a private suite. The arrangement balances guest capacity with comfort, avoiding the tighter multi-cabin layouts often found on yachts below 25 metres.
Separate crew quarters for two support both private cruising and charter operation.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (10V2000 M96L) 1,622hp engines, motor yacht Balance is capable of reaching a top speed of 29 knots, and comfortably cruises at 23 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
