Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in October 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2020.
Exterior Design
Althea is a 48m (157.5ft) aluminium motor yacht built by Admiral as part of The Italian Sea Group’s Atos 47 series. Her design, by Gian Marco Campanino, balances architectural strength with understated elegance. The pale blue hull and white superstructure give her a calm, almost serene profile at sea. The lines are long and precise, creating a sense of motion even when she is still. With an 8.8m (28.9ft) beam and a 2.1m (6.9ft) draft, she offers a generous internal volume of 499GT while maintaining a sleek, purposeful look.
Life outdoors has been planned across three large decks. The sundeck covers 100 square metres (1,076.4 square feet) and feels open and inviting, arranged with a bar, comfortable seating and built-in sunpads that face aft over the wake. Glass guardrails keep the views clear and give the deck a light, floating quality. The upper deck dining area sits under partial cover, linking directly to the skylounge through wide sliding glass doors so guests can move easily between air-conditioned and open-air spaces.
A wide beach platform completes the layout at the stern, fitted with sunloungers, a Bimini shade and an extendable ladder for direct access to the sea. The garage nearby stores tenders and toys up to 7m (23ft) in length, keeping deck spaces clean and ready for guests.
Interior Design
The interiors are by Gian Marco Campanino and follow the same principle of simplicity and flow seen in her exterior. The design avoids sharp corners in favour of soft, rounded edges that make every space feel continuous and easy to move through. The palette is neutral and bright, with pale oak floors, soft fabrics and panels in shades of cream and sand. Large windows stretch almost from floor to ceiling, filling each room with natural light and wide ocean views.
In the main salon, the dining table seats eight and sits beside a low sideboard in dark wood that contrasts gently with the lighter tones elsewhere. The open-plan layout leads into a lounge area with plush seating and clear sightlines through the glass doors to the aft deck. The skylounge on the upper deck is a more relaxed space with pale timber floors, a curved sofa and direct access to another outdoor lounge and dining area. The effect throughout is open, airy and calm, where the sea remains a constant backdrop.
Materials include tropical ebony, statuario marble and soft alcantara, chosen for their tactile feel as much as their appearance.
Accommodation
Althea accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins. The main-deck owner’s suite spans the full beam, featuring large windows, a king-size bed, a private study desk and a lounge area. The design is peaceful, with upholstered wall panels, neutral fabrics and well-balanced lighting. A second owner’s stateroom is located on the lower deck, alongside a VIP suite, a double cabin and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman berth.
Crew accommodation is arranged for 10. The captain’s cabin is located on the bridge deck and can be used for an extra guest when needed. Four twin cabins for crew are positioned on the lower deck, providing direct access to the service areas and galleys.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32 Acert) 1,902hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Althea is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 48,710 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,300 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
