Design & Construction
Designed around a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.74m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 194 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
At 32.8m (107.6ft), F100 broke new ground when she launched in 1983. Built by CRN with exterior lines by naval architect Gerhard Gilgenast, she carried a profile that was stripped back and functional, with a slightly austere character. The hull was finished in a pale tone, complemented by darker detailing at the waterline and a continuous band of timber capping the bulwarks. Her look was unusual for the time, favouring clean geometry and utility over the flowing, decorative style often seen in luxury yachts of the era.
Deck areas were laid out for straightforward use on long passages. The aft deck offered an open, practical working space, while the upper deck was reinforced and cleared to act as a helicopter landing pad. It was the first time such a feature appeared on a yacht of this size, marking a turning point in design. The forward section carried the working gear with little distraction, while the after sections included areas for seating and sun.
Despite the stripped-down approach, one refined touch was added. A slim line of pure gold was set under the rubbing strake, running from bow to stern. It was a discreet flourish on an otherwise pragmatic yacht, giving F100 a subtle signature of elegance within her utilitarian form.
