Delivered in 2023, Mercedes is a 24.38m Sport Fisher yacht for sale built by American shipyard Viking Yachts. Viking Yachts' team has created the interior and exterior design of the superyacht, alongside her naval architecture.

Key Features

  • Viking 80 Skybridge at 24.54m (80ft 6in)
  • Twin MTU engines with 40 knot potential
  • 20sqm (216sqft) tournament-ready cockpit
  • Additional fuel capacity of 12,217L (3,227 US gal)

Design & Construction

Designed around a planing fiberglass hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 6.5m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 105 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Built by Viking Yachts in 2023, Mercedes is a Viking 80 Sky Bridge (80SB), a 24.54m (80.5ft) sportfishing yacht that combines tournament fishing capability with the comfort of an enclosed bridge and the visibility of an open-air helm above. Measuring 6.5m (21.3ft) across the beam and displacing approximately 105GT, she sits among the largest production sportfishing yachts in Viking's range.

The most distinctive feature of the Viking 80SB is its two-tier bridge arrangement. An enclosed bridge occupies the upper deck, while a skybridge sits above it beneath a custom Palm Beach Towers hardtop. This configuration gives operators a climate-controlled wheelhouse for long passages and poor weather, alongside an elevated open-air helm with clear views across the cockpit and surrounding water during fishing operations.

The profile remains remarkably clean for a yacht carrying three distinct levels. A sharply raked windshield, dark glazing and aggressive bridge angles create a streamlined appearance, while the skybridge integrates into the overall silhouette rather than appearing as an added structure. Viking's use of lightweight composite construction helps keep the upper sections visually balanced despite the additional height. The design draws heavily from the larger Viking 92, particularly in the bridge treatment and sweeping sheerline.

From the image, the bow carries substantial freeboard and a pronounced flare, both hallmarks of Viking's offshore pedigree. The high forward sections help deflect spray away from the deck when running into head seas, while the long foredeck and uncluttered side decks support line handling and anchoring operations. The dark bridge glazing contrasts sharply against the white superstructure, giving the yacht a low, fast appearance despite her size.

Mercedes incorporates several owner-specified exterior upgrades. A metallic-painted window mask visually connects the glazing into a continuous dark band around the deckhouse, creating a more contemporary appearance than the standard treatment. The yacht also features teak laid cockpit decking, teak coamings and teak covering boards, adding warmth to the working deck without compromising its fishing functionality.

The cockpit spans approximately 20.1m² (216ft²) and is arranged around a Bluewater Unlimited Class teak fighting chair. A raised mezzanine occupies the forward end of the cockpit, combining seating, refrigeration, tackle storage and engine room access within a single zone. Air conditioning has been added to the mezzanine, allowing guests and crew to remain comfortable while remaining close to the fishing action.

Interior Design

Mercedes features a high-gloss walnut interior throughout, creating a consistent finish across the saloon, enclosed bridge and accommodation spaces. The design balances Viking's fishing heritage with a level of finish more commonly associated with cruising motor yachts.

The main deck follows a proven Viking arrangement. Guest seating occupies the aft section of the saloon, while the galley sits forward to port opposite a large dinette. Rod storage integrated beneath the dinette seating reflects the yacht's fishing brief while preserving clean sightlines throughout the interior.

Several owner-specified upgrades distinguish Mercedes from standard 80SB builds. Lumix quartz countertops with integrated backlighting have been installed in the galley, day head and master suite. The illuminated surfaces provide a striking contrast to the darker walnut joinery and represent a reported $80,000 upgrade package.

The enclosed bridge functions as a second living area as well as a command centre. Large windows provide excellent visibility, while the climate-controlled environment allows the space to remain comfortable during long passages. This arrangement gives owners and guests an additional social area separate from the main saloon, particularly useful when cruising with a full complement of guests.

Accommodation

Mercedes accommodates up to 10 guests across five en suite staterooms and carries a professional crew of three.

The full-beam master suite occupies the centre of the lower deck, where the yacht's beam provides significantly more floor area than the forward cabins. In addition to the illuminated Lumix quartz finishes, the suite includes extensive storage, a private seating area and a spacious en suite bathroom.

A VIP stateroom occupies the bow and benefits from the volume created by Viking's high forward sections. Three additional guest cabins complete the accommodation arrangement, allowing the yacht to host multiple couples, family groups or tournament teams without relying on convertible berths.

The five-cabin configuration is particularly noteworthy within the sportfishing sector. Many yachts in this category prioritise operational spaces and fishing infrastructure over guest accommodation, whereas Mercedes combines a large tournament cockpit, enclosed bridge and skybridge with accommodation for ten guests.
