The 27m Viking 90C is the fifth Open Bridge configuration completed within the Viking 90 series. Constructed with a planing GRP hull and superstructure, the flagship sportfishing yacht represents the 21st hull delivered in the model range, equalling the total production achieved by its predecessor, the Viking 92.
Final preparations underway before Fort Lauderdale debut
Following her departure from Viking's construction facility, the yacht has entered the final commissioning phase, where fuelling, dockside systems checks and sea trials will be completed ahead of delivery. The yacht is then scheduled to make her public debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2026, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Viking Open Bridge Convertible model.
A production milestone that reflects the Viking 90's success
The motor yacht represents an important milestone for Viking Yachts, equalling the complete production run of the Viking 92C. Introduced in 2014, the Viking 92C established a new benchmark for large sportfishing yachts by providing tournament capability with the comfort and range expected of a luxury motor yacht. While the Viking 92C reached 21 deliveries over six and a half years before production concluded in 2021, the Viking 90 has achieved the same figure in around three and a half years, highlighting continued demand for Viking's flagship platform.
Open bridge design prioritises visibility and sportfishing performance
The boat has been developed for owners who value an open-air helm, unobstructed visibility and a direct connection to the cockpit while underway and during tournament fishing. Finished in Nardo Grey, the model retains the spacious three-deck layout of the Viking 90 platform, accommodating up to 10 guests across six suites while providing practical crew accommodation and generous exterior working spaces suited to offshore cruising and sportfishing.
Proven engineering supports offshore capability
Built around a planing GRP hull and superstructure, the 21st Viking 90C is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert diesel engines producing 1,900hp each. Twin-screw propulsion, a 14,388-litre fuel capacity and Viking's tournament-focused engineering philosophy provide the capability required for extended offshore passages, while the model has been developed to balance performance with long-range cruising comfort.
Viking Yachts continues to expand its sportfishing range
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, there are currently seven Viking Yachts in the order book. Alongside the Viking 90C, the Viking 82C continues the builder's flagship convertible sportfishing lineage, while the Viking 74C remains one of the brand's most popular tournament models and has been the subject of an in-depth YachtBuyer review, offering further insight into Viking's design and performance philosophy.
