Design & Construction

Designed around a planing fiberglass hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 6.5m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 105 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the twenty-seventh yacht built on the Viking 80SB design.

Exterior Design

Party of Five is a Viking 80 Skybridge, built in 2019, and the design leans hard into that sportfish DNA while still carrying the volume of a motor yacht. The profile is long and low, with a strong sheerline that rises into a high bow, and around 2.7m (9ft) of freeboard forward tapering down to just over 0.9m (3ft) at the stern, so the stance looks purposeful as well as functional.

The hull uses a sharp entry and higher forward chines to push spray down and away, and this helps deliver a dry ride offshore, while convex sections improve efficiency at speed. The beam is carried well aft, so stability and cockpit space both benefit, and that shows in the overall balance of the boat.

A key part of the layout is the 20.2 square metre (217 sq ft) cockpit, which is set up for serious fishing with a transom door, livewell, fish boxes and an ice chipper, while a raised mezzanine adds seating, refrigeration and tackle storage just above. Teak decking and covering boards run throughout this area, so it keeps a consistent finish underfoot.

Up top, the skybridge acts as a second command station, with clear 360-degree sightlines and a Palm Beach Towers hardtop above. The helm sits low and central, with seating wrapped around it, so it works for both fishing and social use. Forward, the bow has space for tender storage, and in this case a Highfield 17 tender from 2022 sits secured on deck.

Interior Design

Inside, the finish shifts to gloss walnut joinery, and the tone stays warm without feeling heavy. The main saloon is arranged for entertaining, with a custom layout that links directly into the galley, so the whole space works as one rather than separate zones.

Large side windows bring in light, while the dark exterior glazing keeps the profile clean outside. The design comes from an experienced Viking owner, so the layout focuses on practical use as well as comfort, with systems placed for access and maintenance rather than hidden away for the sake of it.

The enclosed bridge adds another interior lounge, and it sits high with wide visibility, so it becomes a usable living space as well as a helm station. Electronics include Omni sonar and a full navigation package, so the boat is set up for long runs and serious use offshore.

Accommodation

Party of Five accommodates up to 10 guests across five staterooms, and the layout includes six heads, so each cabin has proper support without compromise. Crew numbers are not fixed in the same way as larger yachts, but the layout allows for owner-operator use or additional crew depending on how the yacht is run.

The full-beam master sits among the guest spaces and benefits from the beam carried aft, while the remaining cabins provide a mix of doubles and twins suited to family or group use. Storage and access have been planned with longer trips in mind, so the accommodation works for extended stays as well as shorter runs.

Powered by twin diesel MTU (2000 V16 M96L) 2,635hp engines, motor yacht Party of Five is capable of reaching a top speed of 38 knots, and comfortably cruises at 32 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
