Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 14.5m beam and a 2.7m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 750 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2021 with the keel laid under the project name 'Innovation'. Launched in September 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2024.
Exterior Design
This Is It doesn't look like any other superyacht, but the styling isn't there simply to turn heads. Built as a 43.5m (142.9ft) aluminium power catamaran, she uses her 14.5m (47.6ft) beam to rethink almost every part of the traditional superyacht layout. The result is a yacht that feels closer to a modern waterfront home than a conventional motor yacht.
The catamaran platform is the starting point for everything. Instead of stacking accommodation on top of a single hull, Tecnomar spreads the living spaces across two hulls connected by an exceptionally wide bridge deck. That allows the superstructure to stay surprisingly low despite offering around 750GT of internal volume, while also creating deck spaces that simply wouldn't fit on a monohull of the same length.
Those huge sweeping arches aren't just styling flourishes either. They visually tie the hulls and superstructure together, helping disguise the yacht's considerable beam so the profile feels flowing instead of bulky. Combined with more than 600m² (6,458ft²) of glass, the effect is almost sculptural, with the dark glazing appearing to float beneath the roof rather than being broken up into separate decks.
Glass plays a structural role throughout the design. Full-height windows, glass bulwarks and open staircases allow views to run right through the yacht, making it feel far more open than most enclosed superyachts. From several angles you can see straight from one side of the yacht to the other, so the sea never feels far away.
The aft deck shows how differently a catamaran can use its space. A glass-sided swimming pool spans the gap between the two hulls, while broad staircases lead down to a beach club tucked into the sheltered platform below. Rather than creating a small swim platform hanging off the stern, This Is It forms an entire waterside terrace protected by the hulls themselves. It's almost like arriving at your own private dock every time the anchor goes down.
Forward, the unusual beam creates another surprise. Instead of squeezing seating around mooring gear, the foredeck becomes a genuine outdoor lounge with generous circulation, large social spaces and uninterrupted views ahead. Throughout the yacht, the deck layout feels less constrained because the beam has given the designers far more room to work with.
Interior Design
Step inside and the unusual exterior suddenly starts to make sense. The catamaran's width allows the main living spaces to spread out naturally instead of being arranged as a series of narrower rooms connected by passageways.
The main saloon stretches almost the full width of the bridge deck, with seating, dining, a television lounge, bar and breakfast area sharing one open volume. There are no obvious breaks between inside and outside either. Flush deck levels, full-height sliding doors and uninterrupted glazing allow the saloon and aft deck to work as one large entertaining space whenever the weather allows.
The materials are deliberately restrained. Timber, marble, leather and brushed metals provide warmth without distracting from the architecture, while hidden lighting follows the yacht's flowing curves rather than relying on rows of spotlights. The result feels calm and residential despite the dramatic surroundings.
One of the cleverest ideas is the galley. Rather than hiding it away completely, Tecnomar turned it into part of the social space. Glass partitions can switch from transparent to opaque, allowing guests to watch food being prepared or hide the working area when entertaining becomes more formal. Nearby, a large round dining table encourages relaxed family meals instead of traditional formal dining.
The staircase is another feature that deserves attention. Most superyachts hide their staircases inside enclosed towers, but here broad aluminium and laminated glass stairs remain completely open between the decks. They bring daylight deep into the centre of the yacht and make moving around feel natural instead of passing from one enclosed room to another.
Even the wheelhouse follows the same thinking. Freestanding helm consoles sit within floor-to-ceiling glazing, giving the captain excellent visibility while maintaining the open, uncluttered feel that runs throughout the yacht.
Accommodation
This Is It accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins, although calling the owner's accommodation a cabin hardly does it justice.
The owner's apartment occupies the aft section of the upper deck, completely separated from the guest accommodation below. A remarkable 3.3m (10.8ft) ceiling rises above the bed, while a huge skylight brings daylight directly into the room. Full-height glazing opens onto a private terrace overlooking the wake, making the suite feel much more like a luxury penthouse than a traditional yacht cabin.
The layout also makes excellent use of changing floor levels. The bathroom and dressing room sit slightly lower than the bedroom, allowing uninterrupted glazing around the bed while keeping the practical spaces discreetly out of sight. The owner's office and the panoramic spa sit close by, effectively creating a private apartment that occupies much of the upper deck.
Two VIP cabins occupy the main deck, taking full advantage of the catamaran's exceptional beam. Large windows, generous ceiling heights and soft organic shapes give them the same calm atmosphere found throughout the yacht.
Two further guest cabins occupy the lower deck, while an additional upper deck cabin can double as a games room when extra accommodation isn't required. The flexibility reflects the yacht's relaxed approach to life on board rather than following a fixed superyacht formula.
Crew accommodation is equally well considered. By placing most operational spaces within the hulls, the designers have kept service routes away from the main guest areas while creating generous crew accommodation, technical spaces and storage without compromising the open feel of the living decks.
Performance & Capabilities
This Is It demonstrates that a catamaran platform can deliver much more than extra living space. The wide stance naturally provides excellent stability, particularly at anchor, while the twin-hull configuration also allows unusually large deck areas and a relatively shallow draft for a yacht of this size.
Twin 2,636hp MTU diesel engines provide a top speed of 21 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of around 20 knots. With 53,600L of fuel on board, she can cover approximately 3,600 nautical miles at an economical 10 knots, giving her the range for extended cruising well beyond the Mediterranean.
The engineering reflects the same ambition as the design. Despite offering around 750GT of internal volume, This Is It combines the stability and space of a large catamaran with performance that keeps pace with many conventional aluminium motor yachts. Rather than asking owners to choose between striking design and practical cruising, she shows that the two can work together when the platform is conceived from the ground up.
