Designed by Can Yalman with naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini, the 40MXP builds on the success of the Numarine 37XP while introducing a stronger emphasis on outdoor living. The result is an explorer yacht that retains a 6,000-nautical-mile range yet dedicates considerably more space to life beside the water.
The model itself made its public debut earlier this year at the Palm Beach International Boat Show aboard the second hull, Mitan, whereas the first hull, Miouch, will be exhibited for the first time in Europe.
An explorer yacht with Mediterranean appeal
The 40MXP represents the next step in Numarine's XP Series. While the familiar long-range capabilities remain unchanged, the "M" in the name signals a greater focus on Mediterranean-style cruising, with larger exterior entertaining spaces and a closer connection to the sea.
Rather than redesigning the platform entirely, Numarine reworked key areas of the proven 37XP. The most significant change comes aft, where the main saloon has been moved forward to create a substantially larger open-air social deck.
That additional space accommodates a generous dining area, lounge seating, an exterior bar and a glass-backed plunge pool that sits directly above a full-beam hydraulic swim platform. Together, these spaces create a beach club environment more commonly associated with significantly larger superyachts.
Miouch leads the European debut
Visitors to Cannes will see Miouch, the first 40MXP completed by the Turkish shipyard. Delivered in 2025, the 39m yacht spans three decks and remains below the important 500GT threshold at 499GT, balancing substantial internal volume with regulatory advantages.
Finished with a distinctive metallic champagne hull above the waterline, Miouch stands apart from many explorer yachts through its contemporary styling. Sharp chines, faceted hull glazing and angular superstructure lines give the yacht a modern profile while remaining unmistakably part of Numarine's XP family.
The motor yacht also illustrates the 40MXP's shift toward lifestyle-focused cruising. The enlarged aft deck serves as the centerpiece of the design, while the upper deck and sundeck add further outdoor entertaining areas, including a Jacuzzi positioned high above the water.
Interiors shaped around extended cruising
Inside, Can Yalman's interior continues the clean, understated approach found throughout Numarine's recent models. Large windows flood the main saloon with natural light, while sliding glass doors connect the interior directly to the expanded aft terrace.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests across six cabins. The owner's suite occupies the forward section of the main deck, taking advantage of the yacht's full beam and elevated position. Below deck, a full-beam VIP suite mirrors much of the owner's accommodation, with additional guest cabins completing the layout.
As demonstrated by the second hull, Mitan, owners are able to tailor much of the arrangement to suit their cruising style. Optional configurations allow spaces to serve as lounges, gyms, additional storage or expanded wardrobe areas, while lower deck cabins can also be adapted to individual requirements.
Twin 800hp MAN diesel engines provide a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Other Cannes Premieres Worth Seeing
Alongside the Numarine 40MXP, several other models will make their European debut during this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
The GranOcean W-72 Open introduces a 21.98-meter luxury power catamaran aimed at long-distance cruising, offering accommodation for up to 10 guests alongside expansive interior volume and panoramic glazing. At the other end of the size spectrum, the Manari 52 brings a high-performance 15.85-meter sports yacht capable of speeds up to 45 knots, with a strong emphasis on outdoor entertaining and owner customization.
