Sanlorenzo SL108 (2005 - 2013) Rivals

Which yacht is best for you? As always, it’s all about personal choice.

Accommodation

If accommodating guests overnight is your main concern, then the Sanlorenzo 108 which offers well-appointed accommodation for up to 10 guests with its 5 cabin layout option does not match its rivals. Many of its competitors including the Gulf Craft Majesty 111 offer slightly more guest accommodation sleeping up to 12 guests in 6 cabins, making them better choices for those seeking to maximise the number of family and friends they can sleep onboard. However, for maximum comfort for the owner, the 108 features a master cabin with an en-suite bathroom and a dressing table and all cabins have dedicated en-suite bathrooms for family or guest convenience. Equivalently, the Custom Line 33 and Ocean Alexander 32L also offer 5 cabins, but with facilities for 10 guests, however they still offer an exceptional level of comfort for family or group vacations.

Performance

In terms of cruising performance, the Sanlorenzo 108 leads the way with an impressive cruising speed of 24 knots thanks to its twin 2,400hp MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines and maximum speed of 28 knots at 2,450rpm. Closely followed by, the Custom Line Saetta 106' with a respectable cruising speed of 22 knots. The Ocean Alexander 32L also impresses with a cruising speed of 20 knots. On the other hand, for those not in a hurry the Custom Line 33, with the slowest cruising speed of 13 knots, emphasizes stability and comfort over outright speed and enjoying the journey over the destination.

Unique Characteristics

Each yacht also brings unique features to the forefront. The Horizon FD110 Tri-Deck impresses with its extensive range of 2,000 nautical miles, ideal for long voyages. The shallow draft of the Gulf Craft Majesty 111 allows it to navigate waters inaccessible to deeper vessels. The performance of the Custom Line Saetta 106' is especially impressive, with a top speed of 26 knots and cruising speed of 22 knots. The Custom Line 33 has an impressive gross tonnage of 262GT, the largest of the competitors here.

Summary

Despite stiff competition, the Sanlorenzo SL108 stands out with notable features and design elements. These yachts cater to a wide range of preferences and needs, making the choice a matter of personal taste and specific requirements in the world of luxury yachting.
