Astondoa’s flagship Steel series of full displacement superyachts starts at around 37 metres and runs all the way up to 60 metres, with quadruple-deck accommodation and a foredeck helipad at the top of the range.
As the name suggests, these are steel-hulled yachts, but their superstructures can be constructed in lightweight aluminium to lower their centre of gravity in the interests of better seakeeping on passage and improved motion comfort at anchor.
Another key distinction between the Steel series and the rest of the Astondoa fleet is that it straddles the boundary between semi-custom and full-custom build. At this level, buyers can modify exterior design elements around their yacht’s hull and superstructure, as well as fully customising the interior.
The standard models, therefore, are only approximations of the actual yachts produced – each one of which is unique. All models in this series have trans-oceanic voyaging potential and can be specified for long-term, long-range autonomous cruising.
