Introduced in 2025, the Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 Fly replaced the Swift Trawler 35 and became the latest model in a range that has put more than 1,800 boats on the water since 2003. At 11.29m (37ft), it remains true to the original Swift Trawler brief - a manageable cruising boat with enough accommodation, storage and deck space to spend serious time aboard. YachtBuyer sea trialled the ST37 Fly shortly after launch and found a boat that feels very familiar to previous Swift Trawler owners, but noticeably more polished in a few key areas.

Performance

The Swift Trawler 37 Fly is happiest at around 15 to 16 knots. That's exactly where YachtBuyer's boat test found her settling into its stride, with the 400hp Yanmar feeling well matched to the hull. There is a 440hp option available, but whichever engine you choose, this is the sort of speed you're likely to spend most of your time doing.

The semi-displacement hull feels dependable and easy-going. In a head sea it gets on with the job nicely and tracks well once up to speed. In a quartering sea it will roll around a bit, but that's part of the package with a boat like this. During testing, the ST37 felt happiest when left to find its own way through the water rather than being over-driven from the helm.

Fuel capacity is 800L and Beneteau quotes a range of around 350 nautical miles. That won't trouble a long-range passagemaker, but it is more than enough for coastal cruising, hopping between ports and the occasional overnight passage.
