Design & Construction
Designed around a planing aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 1.4m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 286 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2006 with the keel laid under the project name 'Bellissima CC'. Launched in May 2007 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2007.
Exterior Design
Ability features bold, dynamic exterior lines with a low-profile silhouette and a distinctive black hull that gives her a sleek, modern presence on the water. Built entirely from lightweight aluminum, her 41-meter (134.5-foot) hull was designed by Andrea Bacigalupo with an emphasis on high performance and visual impact.
Her outdoor spaces are laid out for versatile use, with expansive areas across the foredeck, aft deck, and flybridge. The bow is fitted with a generous sunbathing area alongside a sociable dining space, arranged in a C-shaped seating configuration. This setup includes twin dining tables that can be joined to form a single oval table for up to 14 guests. A similar focus on relaxation continues on the aft deck, which includes a dining table positioned just outside the main saloon.
The flybridge adds another open-air helm position along with more lounging space, while cushioned sunpads across all decks ensure there are plenty of options for unwinding outdoors. A wide range of water toys is also stored aboard, including a jet ski, Seabobs, inflatable platforms with a netted pool, toy docks, an inflatable iceberg, slide, kayak, and stand-up paddleboards.
Interior Design
The interior of Ability was created by Franco and Anna Della Role in close collaboration with the original owners. Their goal was to establish a distinct contrast between the assertive, contemporary exterior and a more classical, richly detailed interior. Mahogany is used throughout, with the wood applied to doors, bulkheads, and flooring on the main deck, setting a warm and refined tone.
The main saloon is designed to make the most of natural light, with large windows, neutral tones, and plush seating arranged in an open-plan layout. This space flows into a formal dining area featuring a custom table, elegant lighting, and carefully selected artwork. High-quality materials such as polished wood and soft upholstery are paired with integrated AV systems to create a luxurious, comfortable environment suited to both quiet evenings and entertaining.
Forward of the saloon, a central partition leads to the main helm station, finished in carbon fiber and brown leather for a sharp, contemporary contrast to the saloon’s classical tones. A secondary helm is located on the flybridge, offering another option for navigation in the open air.
Accommodation
Ability accommodates up to 10 guests across five en suite cabins, with the layout arranged for both privacy and comfort. The full-beam master suite is located on the lower deck and includes a king-sized bed, elegant wood paneling, ambient lighting, and large windows that frame the view. The en suite bathroom is fitted with high-end fixtures and finished in marble.
Guest accommodation includes three additional cabins: two doubles with queen-sized beds and a twin that can be converted to a double if needed. Each cabin has been individually styled with soft lighting, high-quality fabrics, and a muted color scheme to promote a sense of calm. All guest cabins come with their own en suite bathrooms, featuring modern fittings and walk-in showers.
Crew quarters for eight are also located on the lower deck, with dedicated access to ensure smooth service and guest privacy.
