Design & Construction
Built with a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, she has a 16.5m (54ft) beam and a 3.85m (12.6ft) draft. The yacht is anticipated to have an internal volume of 4,950GT (Gross Tonnes) and will rank among the world's largest yachts at her launch.
At 114.1m (374ft) in length, she will secure Rank 45 in the Top 100 by length. Arwen will also enter YachtBuyer’s YB100, where gross tonnage is the main factor, at Rank 48.
Exterior Design
With a sleek, sharp inverted bow and expansive glazing from bow to stern on the main and upper decks, Arwen is designed to immerse its interior in natural light. The forward profile boasts an elongated foredeck housing a helipad suitable for a H135 helicopter, while the high bridge deck features raked glazing and a starship insignia-style mast for radar and communication equipment.
The aft deck level lines angle steeply down to the water, providing a futuristic view of the yacht from behind. A large 20-meter glass-encased infinity pool sits atop a fluted wooden platform, flanked by twin staircases with side-step waterfalls leading to an extensive bathing platform. Ingenious engineering allows a section of the pool to be hydraulically raised, transforming it into a deck area for entertaining guests.
The yacht's design incorporates a myriad of design features including neat seating areas cleverly positioned within the sweeping arches of the superstructure. From the water's edge looking up, the deck levels seem to float, enhanced by extensive glazing that provides a futuristic and visually stunning perspective.
Interior Design
Previously known as Project ELF, Arwen features interior and exterior design by the US-based firm Píndaros, with assistance from Champeau & Wilde and Andy Waugh.
The main salon of Arwen is distinguished by its lofty 5.9-meter-high ceilings and expansive windows, with a mezzanine leading to the upper deck. The yacht boasts an internal volume of 4,950 gross tons, providing a spacious interior that includes an owner's stateroom spanning 290 square meters and a main salon of 190 square meters. At the heart of the superyacht's design is a stunning spiral staircase located in a central atrium, offering access to the three main guest decks.
A standout feature of the yacht Arwen is "The Nest," a panoramic enclosed seating area perched high atop the yacht. Spanning approximately 20 square meters, The Nest includes a seating area and a double bed, connected to a forward jacuzzi and a 70 square-meter winter garden. A bar, starboard seating area, and an adjacent dayhead with a shower complement this area. The winter garden opens up to the exterior decks through sliding glass doors. This versatile space, alongside the Nest, jacuzzi, and bathroom, can also be combined to form an additional owner's or VIP apartment.
Accommodation
Guests are accommodated in six en suite cabins, while the owner enjoys a private 290-square-meter suite with 3.m (10ft) ceiling heights on a dedicated deck, complete with access to a foredeck dining and lounge area.
Arwen can carry up to 34 crew onboard, accommodated throughout 18 cabins on the lower deck. The captain's cabin is located on the bridge deck.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel-electric Caterpillar (C18) engines, motor yacht Arwen is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 245,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Wellness
Key features onboard include a 20m by 5m (65.6ft by 16.4ft) swimming pool located on her main deck, 13.2 meters of which can be hydraulically raised, transforming the pool into a deck area that is ideal for entertaining guests. On the lower deck, guests can enjoy the use of the spa, massage room, hair and makeup salon, sauna, and steam room.
