The 36.58m motor yacht Cristobal was delivered to her owners in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Stefano Righini, while her interiors are the work of Zuretti.

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.9m beam and a 2.21m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 299 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2005. She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in July 2007.

Exterior Design

Stefano Righini's exterior for the Benetti Classic 120 helped define a generation of production superyachts by combining traditional proportions with a cleaner, more contemporary profile than many rivals of the late 2000s. Cristobal carries the model's familiar tri-deck silhouette, where the raised pilothouse, broad sundeck and gently rising sheer line create a yacht that still feels well balanced despite her generous internal volume. Pronounced hull flares, cutaway bulwarks and long bands of glazing lighten the profile, while the canoe stern gives the aft sections a softer finish than the square transoms that later became common.

The main deck glazing was one of the Classic 120's strongest selling points. Large panoramic windows wrap the owner's suite and main saloon, bringing daylight deep into the interior while opening wide views across the water. Forward, a traditional Portuguese bridge links the side decks and foredeck seating area, preserving the practical seakeeping features expected of a yacht designed for extended cruising.

Outdoor living follows a layout that has stood the test of time. The main aft deck provides a sheltered lounge, the upper deck combines indoor and outdoor dining around the skylounge, and the sundeck remains the yacht's social hub with a Jacuzzi, wet bar, generous seating and sunpads beneath a removable shade. At sea level, the hydraulic swim platform extends the stern into a practical bathing area with direct access to the water.

Interior Design

Cristobal retains the proven Benetti Classic 120 arrangement while benefiting from a comprehensive interior refresh completed in 2020. New sofas, dining furniture, soft furnishings and decorative finishes give the living spaces a lighter, more contemporary feel without changing the layout that made the model so successful with both private owners and the charter market.

The main saloon remains the centre of guest life, where wide windows, light timber joinery and generous seating create a bright, open atmosphere. The formal dining area continues the same design language and sits naturally within the main deck, allowing the space to work equally well for family cruising or larger dinners.

The skylounge provides a second, more relaxed living area that opens directly onto the upper aft deck. This separation between formal and informal entertaining has long been one of the Classic 120's strengths, allowing different groups of guests to use the yacht at the same time without feeling confined to one principal saloon.

Accommodation

Cristobal accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins, a layout that became one of the defining features of the Benetti Classic 120. The full-beam owner's suite occupies the forward end of the main deck, where panoramic windows, a king-size bed and generous ensuite make full use of the yacht's beam while giving the owner privacy away from the guest accommodation below.

Four further cabins occupy the lower deck, comprising two doubles and two twins, all with ensuite bathrooms. The arrangement works particularly well for families or mixed groups, offering flexibility without compromising cabin size. Rather than chasing additional guest numbers, Benetti devoted the available volume to comfortable circulation and well-proportioned accommodation, a decision that has helped the model remain attractive long after production ended.

Crew accommodation for seven supports efficient service while remaining largely separate from guest circulation, another factor that has made the Classic 120 a popular platform for charter as well as private ownership.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 2000 M91) 12-cylinder 1,480hp engines running at 2350rpm, motor yacht Cristobal is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 40,008 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,800 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Cristobal also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
