The 39.2m motor yacht Fifth Season was delivered to her owners in 2024 by Italian shipyard Mangusta. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Mangusta, while Alberto Mancini is responsible for her interior design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.5m beam and a 2.25m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 324 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the second yacht built on the Oceano 39 design. Launched in May 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2024.

Exterior Design

Fifth Season belongs to the Mangusta Oceano line, a series that marked a significant change for Overmarine. After decades building high-performance Maxi Open yachts, the Italian yard developed the Oceano range for owners who wanted the same contemporary styling but with the space, comfort and cruising capability of a displacement yacht. Rather than chasing outright speed, the focus shifted towards long-range living without losing the sleek character that defines the Mangusta name.

Designed by Alberto Mancini in collaboration with Verme Projects, the 39.2m (128.6ft) yacht has a clean, architectural profile built around light and openness. A near-vertical bow, long horizontal lines and extensive glazing create a low, elegant silhouette, while the dark glass forms uninterrupted bands that reduce the visual weight of the superstructure. Transparent upper-deck bulwarks add to the effect, allowing the decks to appear lighter than their considerable volume suggests.

The relationship between the yacht and the sea shapes every aspect of the design. Full-height windows on both the main and upper decks, several of which open, blur the boundary between inside and out. Teak headlining continues from the interior lounges onto the exterior overhangs, while flush teak decking runs throughout the outdoor spaces to strengthen that visual connection.

Several features distinguish the Oceano 39 from more conventional tri-deck yachts. Forward, an infinity pool with a partially glazed floor admits natural light into the owner's bathroom below. Aft, fold-down terraces extend the beach club across the water, creating a broad waterside platform for relaxing, swimming and entertaining. Above, the 85m² (915ft²) flybridge combines generous shaded seating beneath the hardtop with open sunbathing areas and a fully equipped bar, offering one of the largest outdoor entertainment spaces in this size range.

Interior Design

The interior continues the architectural approach established outside, with calm contemporary styling centred on natural materials and carefully balanced proportions. Straight lines and gentle curves sit alongside one another throughout the guest spaces, creating interiors that feel understated rather than decorative.

The main saloon is arranged around Minotti Powell sofas and Archibald armchairs, with a custom Calacatta marble table forming the centrepiece. A television disappears behind a slatted Rimex fumè feature wall, allowing the room to retain its clean appearance when not in use. Ceiling mirrors subtly increase the sense of space without dominating the design.

Martinica wood, larch marble, suede wall panels and extensive teak detailing establish a restrained palette that runs consistently throughout the yacht. On the upper deck, floor-to-ceiling glazing opens almost completely, transforming the skylounge into a covered terrace where the same teak finishes continue uninterrupted between the interior and exterior.

Accommodation

Fifth Season accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins. The full-beam owner's suite occupies a prime position on the main deck and is accessed through a private office. Large hull windows fill the cabin with natural light, while a skylight above the ensuite bathroom and additional glazing within the dressing room further enhance the feeling of openness.

Four guest cabins occupy the lower deck, comprising two VIP suites and two double cabins, each fitted with an additional Pullman berth. Accommodation for seven crew allows service areas to remain discreetly separated from guest spaces throughout the yacht.

Performance & Capabilities

Rather than following Mangusta's traditional pursuit of maximum speed, Fifth Season reflects the yard's move towards efficient long-range cruising. Powered by twin 1,700hp MTU 12V 2000 M86 diesel engines, she reaches a top speed of 16 knots and cruises comfortably at 12 knots, providing the relaxed pace expected of a displacement yacht designed for extended time aboard.

The Oceano series was developed for owners who value volume, comfort and range over outright performance, but without sacrificing Mangusta's distinctive styling. While higher-powered engine options are available elsewhere in the range, Fifth Season's standard propulsion package complements her role as a refined cruising yacht built for long periods at sea rather than high-speed passages.
