Design & Construction
Designed around a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10m beam and a 3.6m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 447 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The Langley is a three-masted staysail schooner built by Aegean Yacht in 2009 and refitted at RMK Marine. Originally launched as Montigne, she remains the largest sailing yacht built by Aegean Yacht and combines traditional schooner character with the volume and guest space of a large motor yacht.
Her steel hull, long bowsprit and clipper-style bow give The Langley a romantic classic profile, while the three tall aluminium masts carry 1,100sqm (11,840sqft) of sail. Five of the six sails can be roller furled, which makes sail handling more practical for a vessel of this size. The rig includes three overlapping headsails, a masthead staysail on the mainmast, and a mizzen with a large Bermudan sail and staysail.
The refit changed the yacht’s aft profile substantially. The original rounded canoe stern was replaced with a longer, more modern stern section and beach club, adding around 5m (16.4ft) to her overall length. The new stern has a submersible swim platform that can lower guests into the water or lift into a terrace for dining close to the sea.
The deck layout is unusually broad for a sailing yacht. The large aft deck has deep lounge seating, a teppanyaki bar and a covered dining area beneath a fixed hardtop. Roll-down screens can enclose the space, giving shade and wind protection while keeping the open-air feel.
Above, the sundeck has wide teak areas, loose sunloungers and a large Jacuzzi. The refit replaced the earlier two-person spa pool with an eight-person Jacuzzi, a much better match for the yacht’s scale. A raised outside helm station sits on the sundeck and gives the crew clear sightlines under sail.
The main deck has wide walkways, varnished rail caps and a strong mix of teak, polished wood and stainless steel. The dark hull, cream superstructure and red trim give The Langley a distinctive traditional look, softened by the newer beach club at the stern.
Interior Design
The Langley’s interior has the scale of a motor yacht but retains the atmosphere of a classic sailing vessel. The 2025 refit kept the original layout intact but refreshed the yacht throughout with new furniture, new fabrics and updated guest areas.
The main salon and dining area form one large open-plan space, unusually spacious for a sailing yacht. Polished cherrywood joinery, white carpets and pale overhead panels create a classic but bright interior. The salon has generous lounge seating, a games table, a self-playing boudoir grand piano and a full home theatre setup with media centre and large LCD screen.
The current refit has softened the older formal feel with cleaner fabrics and loose furniture while preserving the warm timber framework. The result is still traditional, but not tired. It feels like a proper sailing yacht interior rather than a stripped-back modern lounge inserted into an older hull.
The main deck salon has deep leather seating, cream armchairs, timber wall panels and broad windows that bring in natural light from both sides. Ceiling panels are framed in dark timber, and the joinery gives the room a steady, crafted feel.
The aft deck and interior work closely together, with the covered deck functioning almost as an outdoor salon. Dining, lounging and teppanyaki cooking are all grouped here, so the yacht can host large groups without pushing everyone into the main salon.
Accommodation
The Langley accommodates up to 12 guests across sevencabins.
Two large VIP suites are central to the guest layout and make the yacht well suited to two families or mixed charter groups. Each VIP has a king-size bed, corner study, lounge area with a 52in LCD screen, and a large bathroom with both bath and shower.
The remaining guest accommodation includes two double cabins and two triple cabins. The triple cabins give the yacht useful family flexibility without adding extra cabins or reducing guest space.
Crew accommodation supports up to 10 crew, with professional working areas sized for a serious charter yacht. The galley is built to restaurant standard, with strong support spaces including laundry and cold storage.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C12) 380hp engines, motor yacht The Langley is capable of reaching a top speed of 12 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 28,800 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,800 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
